Vacation Destination In Costa Rican Rain Forest Lets You Lodge With Sloths

One vacation destination has been getting a considerable amount of attention for sharing quite a unique selling point online, that selling point being one of nature's most adorable creatures.

Everyone loves a nice relaxing holiday!

Nayara Springs

There's nothing quite like that feeling of relief when you finally get to your hotel and sit down for that first guilt-free cocktail! That moment of relief and relaxation is one of life's most treasured fleeting moments.

However one resort is offering the opportunity for you to share this moment with nature's most evolved relaxing machine!

Nayara Resort and Nayara Springs are located in Costa Rica.

Specifically, the two locations are found in Arenal Volcano National Park and are composed of a cluster of secluded luxury villas.

The extravagant villas include amenities such as a welcome fruit cocktail, breakfast buffet, and even Wi-Fi in the room and throughout the remote property.

However, there is one particular exciting added bonus at Nayara Springs.

Yes, sloths! Nayara Resorts first opened a sloth sanctuary back in 2017.

At the time of its opening, the sanctuary just had a single pair of sloths; however, they now have around 15 sloths on the resort!

This is largely due to the wildlife that the resort has planted.

The resort planted around 300 new Cecropia trees as part of a sustainability project and these trees are apparently "a favorite amongst the area's abundant three-toed sloths", according to Travel and Leisure.

You can also go on a guided tour of the sloth's habitat.

If you're not having any luck finding any of the sloths on your own, then you can go on guided walking tours where staff will help you to locate the adorable furry friends.

Nayara Springs is also completely sustainable!

The people at Nayara Springs have committed themselves to making a completely sustainable resort. Their website explains:

"We are committed to integrating the principles of sustainable development with our everyday business activities. We strive to create a harmonious equilibrium between socioeconomic progress and nature in all that we do, promoting these values among our employees and our community."

There are also slightly more extravagant things to do!

If you want to add a bit more excitement to your trip, and provide a nice counter to the sloth-lifestyle, then there are plenty of other things to do.

You can also take walks around the volcano's lava fields, go canyoning, and white water rafting.

However, the price of such an experience is not cheap.

Rooms at the 5-star villas start at $390 per night. Although can you really put a price on living in such close proximity to these wonderful creatures?!
