Tom Hanks Drops To Do Push-Ups With U.S. Army Sergeant At The Oscars

Ah, good old dependable Tom Hanks.

Always there when we need a smile or a laugh. A shame he didn't win an Oscar, but that's what happens when you're in a category with Joker.

And also, he's won like two (consecutively, actually) so maybe it's time to give someone else a turn.

Tom Hanks is no stranger to the Oscars.

He's been there a couple of times, not to mention he's won a couple in a row (Best Actor for Philadelphia in 1994 and Forrest Gump in 1995).

Let's just say he's pretty familiar.

But somehow, he finds a way to make every year different.

It was a rainy day at the Oscars, and Tom Hanks was getting all ready to be nominated for Best Supporting Actor for A Beautiful Day In The Neighbourhood.

That's when he walked by some soldiers.

Immediately, that Tom Hanks charm kicked in and he dropped to the ground with one U.S. Army sergeant and started doing push-ups.

Obviously, a bunch of heads turned and people were delighted.

Even the other soldiers, who clapped on.

Tom Hanks has a special place in the hearts of soldiers ever since he was inducted as an honorary member of the U.S. Army Rangers Hall of Fame for his portrayal of Captain John H. Miller in Saving Private Ryan.

What a great moment!
