Eminem Makes Surprise Appearance At Oscars With 'Lose Yourself' Performance

Eminem is not exactly someone you would expect to go to the Oscars, but this is 2020 and it's a time where anything can happen to us.

So whenever you think you know what's going to happen, think twice about it.

Eminem is one of the biggest names in rap, and in the music industry in general.

He has incredible star power, writes real and touching tributes to his family and friends through his music, and knows how to shock people with his videos.

Back when "8 Mile" came out, it actually changed a lot of people.

The story, the music, and the acting impressed a number of people.

In fact, one song changed the game for rap and the Oscars.

"Lose Yourself" by Eminem won an Oscar back when it was nominated, proving that rap was Oscar worthy, and not just Grammy worthy.

It was a tremendous honor for all those involved.

"Lose Yourself" writer Jeff Bass was interviewed by Billboard about it and had a lot to say about the Oscar winning song.

He was asked if he knew that the track would take off the way it did.

"The only thing that we noticed, honestly, is that the track felt so good."

"We didn't know why it felt so good, but it was something that felt good to us. It wasn't until he got the script for the movie where he came up with the lyrics and everything."

"It just came together. But something about the mode of the music really touched us."

"We kept pulling it out of the computer every so often to revisit it, to see if it could spark anything in us. We loved the track."

When asked on what it did for rap, he responded:

"It's pretty amazing, especially since it came from this white kid rapper and these two white producers."

"Just to break a color barrier because the culture of hip-hop is known to be a black culture."

"I think that artists like Eminem, myself and my brother being able to work with him helped break the color barrier."

"I've never heard anything negative about Eminem's skills as far as his authenticity in the hip-hop game."

"He is hip-hop, if you want to put it in a culture like that. He was hip-hop, we were all hip-hop. That's how we lived. It didn't matter what color you were."

It's all definitely true.

Eminem has been one of the biggest names in the rap game for years now, and he shows no signs of stopping any time soon.

In fact, Eminem has recently released his 11th studio album.

It's titled "Music to be Murdered By," and it is already earning rave reviews by critics and fans alike.

At this year's Oscar ceremony, they gave a touching tribute to the power of song through film.

They ended the video with 8 Mile, "Lose Yourself" playing in the background.

But no one expected what happened next.

Eminem walked out on stage to give the audience a live performance! Plenty of people were surprised.

But his performance of "Lose Yourself" was beyond iconic, even though it had to be heavily censored.

But not everyone in the crowed had great reactions. For the most part, people seemed really confused and taken aback.

The camera went around the audience to get their reactions, and while some people were into it, most of them were not.

And some people like the legendary Martin Scorsese was just straight up done with the entire thing.

He definitely is going to become a meme now.
