16+ Christmas Design Fails That Totally Deserve A Lump Of Coal

The holiday season is big business for retailers, and it's not just people buying gifts. The very act of decking one's halls can put a dent in your wallet, and many companies try to get in on that action.

Unfortunately, whether due to a rushed design process or simple ineptness, many of those Christmas products are...unfortunate.

1. What does Santa say? "Oh oh oh?"

Reddit | jck0

This is clearly a case of either the designer or the production factory not flipping the design properly before printing. The Santa is pretty cute, though.

2. You may think the giant first letter is all fancy, but double check the placement against the rest of the text.

Otherwise, instead of wearing a hat, Santa will be busy doing something else.

3. Don't just pick a random font!

And if you really, really want to use that specific one, make sure the letter spacing doesn't turn perfectly innocuous words into something much worse.

4. Santaur somehow manages to be totally ripped, while also having a face that looks totally bloated.

But really, who thought an ornament of Santa as a centaur was a good idea? I suppose he could pull his own sleigh...

5. Who wants to tell Lindt that they don't know what a reindeer looks like?

I mean, I get wanting to use the classic golden bunnies in a Christmas-themed product, but don't think you're fooling anyone.

6. You don't need to specify that a bell is shaped like a bell!

Reddit | paigepaige77

I'll just hang these ornaments on my tree-shaped tree, by my mantel-shaped mantel, in my house-shaped house.

7. A company with the advertising budget the size of McDonald's has no excuses.

New rule: every design must be shown to a focus group of 13-year-old boys. If a problem like this exists, they will find it.

8. That is not what a Christmas tree looks like. That is a blob.

Reddit | Sblumy

Really, it just looks like this was a way to get rid of the Easter eggs that didn't pass quality assurance last spring.

9. What may be an animated light show at night becomes a whole other story by day.

Reddit | Michaelsj723

I think that Santa is putting down a present in the animation, but without the lights on, this is just awkward.

10. Stop where?

Reddit | christmas52

This sign was designed by the same people who cause the GPS to direct people to drive off bridges. That hive mind is terrible at directions and must be stopped.

11. But it could be worse. I'll take bad directions over this sign any day.

Who thought this was a good idea?! Between the super creepy snowman and the sign begging Santa to stop, someone had to notice, right?

12. NOPE.

Reddit | coolblue420

If I walked into a family member's home to find this monstrous demon angel on their mantel, I would run. Everything about this is awful.

Why does it look like her cheeks have fangs?!

13. How does this happen?!

Twitter | @michaelghess1

How does it get past the designer, through the manufacturing process, and then onto store shelves? Like, it's a basic spelling error! How did no one notice? ...I need answers.

14. I'm not sure which part of this children's puzzle book is worse: the peeping tom or the fat-shaming.

Reddit | mxrxqueen

Apparently, kids are supposed to look for specific objects in the scene, but I'm too distracted by the poor lady who ripped her dress and the creepy kid on top of the fitting rooms.

15. Nothing says holidays like glittering panties strung up over the street.

Reddit | ProgVal

These "tighty lighties" don't look like they would be very comfortable for the giantess they appear to belong to.

16. This is a joke, right?

Reddit | dtschoerner

There's no way this actually made it through the vetting stage, right? Right?!

It somehow manages to be a bit funny, while also being in terribly bad taste.

17. I'm not sure what zombie bears have to do with Christmas.

Reddit.com

These creepy bears are enough to scare anyone from celebrating Christmas.

18. You have to wonder if anyone actually sketched out this design before putting it into production.

Imgur | sonofwillyard

I'm not even entirely certain what this decoration is meant to be, but I'm sure it wasn't supposed to end up looking like this.

19. Logically, I know these are supposed to be candles surrounded by Christmas ornaments and holly.

Reddit | tuks6

But that just isn't what my eyes are telling me.

20. This is what passes for an avant-garde Christmas tree in Paris.

Imgur | jeffreybaratheon

But seriously, someone needs to talk to Paris about this.

21. Here's another unconventional Christmas tree.

Reddit | maxt0r

It's like the person who designed this has never even seen a poop emoji.

22. My, what an interesting silhouette you have, Santa.

Reddit | Mhblea

As if having a skinny Santa wasn't jarring enough.

23. These are some frisky Frostys.

Reddit | summit28

Who knew snowmen were such an, uh, adventurous bunch?

24. Is it just me or are there only three ornaments in this box?

eBaumsWorld.com

I'm guessing there was a communication breakdown somewhere in the supply chain.

25. This is one ornament I don't want to have to explain to the kids.

eBaumsWorld.com

I shudder to think of an entire tree decorated with these.
