Rebel Wilson Mocks Royal Family During Speech (Who Were Sitting Right In Front Of Her)

Rebel Wilson is quite the rebel.

While presenting at the BAFTA awards this past Sunday night, the Pitch Perfect star mocked the royal family while they sat right in front of her...

Catch the awkward moment below!

In case you needed some comedic relief today, Rebel Wilson totally has your back.

The Isn't It Romantic star gave a hilarious speech this past Sunday night while presenting the Best Director award at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards (BAFTA).

Some might even say that she pulled a Ricky Gervais!

In case you don't know what that means, Ricky Gervais, comedian and creator of The Office, is known for roasting celebs ruthlessly at the Golden Globes.

And this year was no exception.

“You’ll be pleased to know that this is my last time hosting these awards. I don’t care anymore,” Gervais began.

“I’m joking, I never did. NBC clearly don’t care either… fifth time.”

He then proceeded to roast every celebrity in the room to a burnt crisp.

For example, he called them out for using their platform to speak about important issues.

“Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg, so if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your god and [expletive] off,” he said.

But back to Rebel! While she didn't have a seven-minute speech like Ricky, she did make the most of her three minutes.

Ahem, by roasting celebs and even royals!

Before we get completely into it, we're going to give you a quick refresher on why she actually chose to roast them.

The royal family has been going through a lot in the past couple of months.

Meghan and Harry officially decided to leave the family, not wanting to live off the taxpayers' money.

"After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution," they wrote on Instagram.

"We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen."

"It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment."

Then there was that whole drama with Prince Andrew, which is where Wilson got her jokes from.

Some time ago, Prince Andrew was revealed to have associations with Jeffrey Epstein.

He did comment on it, saying that he continued to "unequivocally regret my ill-judged association with Jeffrey Epstein."

While that smoothed things over for most people, Wilson felt the need to point out the drama with a tasteful joke.

"It is really great to be here at the royal Andrew, er, royal Harry – no, sorry – um, royal Phil… at this royal palace place," she began.

This was a direct reference to the royal family drama that's been going on lately, with Harry and Meghan stepping down from their royal roles.

As Wilson mocked the royal family, the camera panned to Prince William and Kate Middleton.

As you can imagine, they were watching awkwardly from the front row.

If you thought *that* was awkward, though, Rebel then proceeded to joke about her lady parts in front of them.

It all started when she joked about the show's decision to replace gift bags for guests for “gifting wallets” that are filled with gift cards.

“Which is funny because [gifting wallet] is also the nickname of my vagina,” Wilson said.

“So maybe it is me who will win best original score at the afterparty tonight," she added, her speech prompting laughs from the audience, such as Adam Driver, Charlize Theron, and Connie Britton.

Rebel was quite the rebel when she cracked an epic joke about the lack of female nominees in the Best Director category.

“Sam Mendes, Martin Scorsese, Todd Phillips, Quentin Tarantino, Bong Joon-ho…" she began.

“I look at the exceptional, daring talent nominated in this category, and I just… I don’t think I could do what they do."

“Honestly, I just don’t have the balls.”

Rebel even took some hits at herself, too, by making fun of "Cats."

She starred in the very poorly received movie in 2019 as the character Jennyanydots.

And, judging by her speech, she clearly has no problems saying what we've all been thinking.

“The red is from that one time I didn’t win Miss Australia, and the black is from a funeral I just went to for the feature film Cats," she said after pointing out how her dress is made from recycled materials.

“Cats. Strangely not nominated for any awards,” Wilson said.

“I’m not sure if everyone here is across the controversy but this year there has been a distinct lack of nominations for felines."

"Yep, even in this best director ‘cat’-egory, no felines have been nominated. It’s really shocking.”

BTW, Rebel wasn't the only celeb to mock the royals that night.

In Brad Pitt's acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actor, which was given by Margot Robbie, he said that he's going to name his award Harry since he's “really excited about bringing [it] back to the States.”

Oh, Brad. Such a rebel!
