90 Day Fiancé is so bad, that it’s good . There’s just something about watching the other people’s drama, in the comfort of your own living room, and quietly judging them, that simply cannot be beat.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t highly invested in the lives of these complete strangers.

The show is already dramatic as hell. There’s love, lies, extreme loathing, crime, you name it.
If you’re tuning into 90 Day Fiancé or any of its spin-offs, you best buckle your seats, ’cause it’s going to be a bumpy, emotional roller-coaster ride.
But things just got even more intense, because their secrets have all been exposed!
Originally, no networks wanted to take on the show.
According to the executive producers, this show was rejected by networks three times, with three different titles before they got an offer.
There was a petition to have Nicole Nafziger kicked off the show.
After an episode that aired in November, 2017, a petition was launched on Change.org , prompting the show to fire Nicole after footage was seen of her physically abusing her fiancé, Azan Tefou.
The couples aren’t paid well to be on the show.
You’d think being on reality TV would pay generously, and in most cases, that is true. But _90 Day Fiancé only pays their American cast members $1000 per episode, while the international cast member isn’t paid at all — since that would be illegal.
The show pays you nothing if you don’t have a green card.
In-laws, friends, family, and other guests are not paid to be on the show either.
According to one of the couples, neither of their families received a single dime for appearing on the show .
Some of the couples seem staged, but they’re not.
Believe it or not, all of the couples on the show are real couples that found each other on their own, with no prior help from the show , or the network.
Some scenes are staged, though.
Sadly, most of the dramatic, memorable conversations and feuds were more than likely scripted — taking the reality out of reality TV.
Even the way they sit during interviews is staged. In a weird way.
Some fans noticed that the women on the show are always sitting very awkwardly, and it turns out, that is no coincidence.
According to a cast member, the producers make all of the women sit with their legs elevated during the interview segments.
Weird.
They film the couples for 12 hours a day.
The couples are followed for 12 hours a day by a camera crew, making sure that none of the drama is missed.
Despite all of the drama, the couples actually have a surprisingly high success rate after the 90 days are over.
Some of you may have a hard time buying the fact that any of these couples end up together, I know I do. But, it turns out that the success rate for these couples isn’t horrible.
So far, only three couples out of 25 have gotten divorced .
In fact, all of the couples from season one are still married.
Who’s to say if they’re happy or not, but all four of the original couples are still married.
Russ and Paola are expecting a child, and so are Mike and Aziza .
Most of the couples met online.
Nowadays, meeting someone organically is a rarer sighting than meeting someone online.
So, as you can probably imagine, meeting someone who lives on the other side of the world, in-person, is even less likely.
The couples aren’t always honest with each other about their pasts.
Although the 90 Day Fiancé crew is required to do thorough background checks before casting, they aren’t at liberty to tell the couples everything they’ve dug up.
Take Jorge and Anfisa for example. She thought that Jorge was a millionaire because he told her he was. But it turned out, he was actually over $20000 in debt.
Yikes!
Sometimes their secrets go beyond their finances.
Jorge and Anfisa announced that they wouldn’t be returning to the show, or taking part in any spin-offs.
Which kind of goes without saying, since Jorge was arrested for having 300 pounds of marijuana in his car. He was sentenced to 22 months in jail.
Being on the show does not give anyone an advantage to become an American citizen.
Even if they do end up getting married, that still does not guarantee them citizenship.
The ratings and number of viewers have been a huge success.
Due to the high numbers this show is raking in, they’ve been able to stock-pile spin-offs using new and old, unused footage.
Larissa Dos Santos Lima was arrested three times for domestically abusing her husband, Colt Johnson.
This 90 Day Fiancé couple did end up getting married, but the honeymoon phase was short-lived.
Only four days after they tied the knot, Larissa was arrested after Colt called the police on her for physically attacking him, for the third time.
Then she started a GoFundMe campaign to help pay her bail and other legal fees.
Larissa posted an emotional Instagram video, that has since been deleted, begging fans to donate to help pay for her legal fees.
Cast members claim that producers aren’t showing us everything.
It’s really no surprise that the producers only show us the things that they want us to see.
But just in case you needed that to be confirmed, one of the cast members spilled the beans on Facebook .
For some of them, reality TV is their calling.
Molly Hopkins starred in Lifetime’s Double Divas in 2013, Darcy Silva appeared on Million Dollar Matchmaker in 2010, before appearing on 90 Day Fiancé , and Patrick Cornett was seen on American Ninja Warrior.
Danielle thought Mohamed really loved her.
I think we all knew that he definitely did not love her. But on the 90 Day Fiancé reunion, Danielle revealed some messages that he’d sent her, that none of us had a chance to see yet.
But even after that, I’m gonna go ahead and say that these two were doomed from the start.
Season six just wrapped up, and we’re all wondering what we’re suppose to do with ourselves.
I guess I can just watch Hoarding: Buried Alive or Return To Amish instead. It just isn’t the same.
