It's the end of an era.
Gwyneth Paltrow recently shared that she's semi-retiring from acting and the reason why might surprise you...
She's a mother, wife, and the founder of the sometimes (read: always) strange lifestyle website, Goop.
This includes Iron Man, Country Strong, The Royal Tenenbaums, and even Glee.
It's reportedly the reason why she and former BFF Winona Ryder don't speak anymore.
Paltrow allegedly nabbed the lead role in Shakespeare in Love out from under Ryder after stumbling upon the script in Ryder's home.
But now, in a new interview, Gwyneth revealed what we've feared all along: she's "semi-retired" from acting.
It all began when she was asked whether the "acting bug" would ever come back and Paltrow's response was brutally honest.
"I really got to the point where even the little things, like sitting in the van going to set, getting your makeup touch-ups, and everything—I really don’t know that I can bear it."
"The last movie I starred in, I was pregnant with my daughter. It was a movie called Proof, an adaptation of a play I did in London, and I was like, ‘I’ve had it. I can’t do this anymore.’"
"I had morning sickness and I was dying, and I had these five-page monologues. So when I had her, I knew I was going to take a big chunk of time off. And I’ve never starred in anything again.”
She worked on the series with her producer husband, Brad Falchuk.
The couple, who got married in 2018, also worked together on Glee.
“I vom. I gag. I hate it," she said, adding that her two children, Apple, 15, and Moses, 13, have never seen any her films besides the Iron Man ones.
From now on, expect to see a lot more from Goop, as she's devoting most of her time there!
Her friend Cameron Diaz has also hung up her acting hat.
The last movie she appeared in was the 2014 remake of Annie.
"I started [experiencing fame] when I was 22, so 25 years ago — that’s a long time. The way I look at it is that I’ve given more than half of my life to the public," she shared to InStyle.
"I don’t miss performing. Right now I’m looking at the landscape of wellness and all that. But whatever I do, it has to be something I’m passionate about — something that just feels effortless," she said.
Since she and husband Benji Madden live a very private life, the birth of their daughter happened secretly.
"I think I’ve reached the status in [the entertainment] world where no one’s going to [expletive] with me."
