Yes, while this may not have changed the MCU as we see it today, there could have been a very strange Spider-man movie out there in the ethos right now.
One that had a lot more thrills and chills… but not because of action. Mostly because of body horror.
Let me explain:
Let us go back to the far off year of 1985.

When people rode around on dinosaurs, used stone for everything and didn’t have engines in their cars. They made a docu-series about it called The Flintstones .
Amidst all this chaos, the rights for a little superhero movie were being transferred between a person and a company.
Specifically: Roger Corman to Cannon Films.

Now Roger Corman was a pretty cool director, but he didn’t really have the technology or anything to make a decent Spider-man film, so Cannon Films took up the mantle.
And boy, what they wanted to do was nuts.

It was less high flying, web-slinging action and more… well, more David Cronenberg.
Instead of Peter Parker getting bit by a radioactive spider, gaining powers and staying generally pretty man-like.
They wanted him to turn into an 8 legged monster.

A creature so foul that it would eventually drive Peter insane, and then to the most pleasant of all ends: suicide.
Woah! It sounds like a cool plot! Hopefully, they use that one for the next Spider-Man movie! (That was all sarcasm. This honestly sounds awful).
