'Jeopardy' Fans Call Out Show For Messing Up An Answer

It seems that the people on Jeopardy! aren't all-seeing and all-knowing. Well, I guess that kind of screws up the religion I was trying to start up around Alex Trebek.

Thanks a lot for screwing up the Cult of Trebek, guys. Now I'll have to find another false idol to worship.

So there was a bit of a mishap on 'Jeopardy!' the other day...

ABC

There we were, cheering on the contestants during Final Jeopardy (the category was "Oscar-Winning Films"), when this question came up:

“The first words spoken in this 1970 Best Picture Oscar winner are ‘Ten-Hut! Be seated.’”

Well that's weird...

IMDb

Because those are the opening lines for Patton, but the winner of Best Picture in 1970 was Midnight Cowboy.

That movie's opening lines were: "Tonight we'll discuss a subject most of us seem to consider either bad taste or frivolous or funny."

Fans were quick to jump on this one.

The "um, actually" of the internet had been frothing at the mouth for a chance to correct the Jeopardy! people for 45 years, and you better believe they jumped at this chance.

Let's not get too mad at the 'Jeopardy!' people...

IMDb

They have been on the air for almost 45 years, so they were bound to make a mistake at some point.

Kind of weird that it came in the age of Google, though...
