Dog The Bounty Hunter's Daughter Reveals 'The Holidays Have Been Sad Without My Mom'

It hasn't been an easy year for the Chapman family.

Duane 'Dog' Chapman, best known for his work on Dog The Bounty Hunter and Dog's Most Wanted, has been battling health concerns since shortly after the death of his wife, Beth Chapman, in June.

Beth had been suffering from stage four throat cancer.

On June 26th, 2019, Dog announced that his wife had passed away in a Tweet, writing, "It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side."

Shortly afterwards, Dog himself was hospitalized for what he believed to be a broken heart.

While TMZ reported that Dog had been hospitalized for a "heart emergency," it was later revealed the cause of Dog's hospitalization had been a pulmonary embolism.

There were also briefly rumors swirling that Dog had passed away.

Dog had to resort to sharing photographs of himself holding the current day's paper and a sign stating he was alive to prove the rumors wrong.

Dog and Beth's daughter, Bonnie Jo Chapman, has also been open about her struggles with accepting her mom's death.

On her Instagram stories this week, she wrote, "I haven’t been posting lately, the holidays have been kinda sad without my mom."

"I don’t want to get into it, just know I’m struggling a bit and that’s why I haven’t been posting," she added.

However, Bonnie did take the time to share a sweet throwback shot of her mom holding her as a baby to celebrate her 21st birthday.

"21 years later," she captioned the shot.
