'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' Star Whitney Way Thore Responds To Criticism After Posing In Lingerie

Let's all make a resolution to leave fat shaming in 2020, how about that?

My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Way Thor posted some pictures to her Instagram, and of course people had to feel some kind of way about it. Luckily, she knew exactly how to respond to them.

Whitney is the star of her own show.

Called My Big Fat Fabulous Life, it follows Whitney on her ever-evolving fitness journey, her personal life, her relationships, and her career.

The show has been running for six seasons now.

The show LITERALLY shows her fitness journey.

She's an accomplished dancer who is crazily skilled at her job.

She can often be found dancing on My Big Fat Fabulous Life, demonstrating that someone can be plus-sized and fit at the same time.

Oh, and she lifts.

In early 2018, Whitney was challenged to do clean and jerk 100 pounds.

By August, she could do it. She posted the proof on her Instagram. We stan a woman who never quits her fitness journey!

And one more thing...

Whitney suffers from a number of health issues that affect her weight, including PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), which affects her hormones and throws her weight regulation off.

You never know what someone is going through.

All of this information demonstrates something very important.

As we can all see: you can work your butt off and still not be stick thin.

Whitney owns her body as it is, and also works to keep it healthy. So...no one should be running their mouths at her, right?

Wrong.

She was once again shamed for her body on Instagram, though.

"A few days ago, I posted an image of me in lingerie — a not-sheer or revealing babydoll, to be exact — and I got a lot of comments asking what my dad would think." She wrote.

The attention was pretty weird.

"I am THIRTY-FIVE! The lingerie showed much less skin than a bikini, which I post pictures of me wearing often."

No one is sure why that particular picture garnered the amount of hate that it did, but Whitney has some theories.

Sexy is not defined by size.

"So what makes people uncomfortable about this? Is it that any kind of lingerie implies that I feel sexy? Am I not allowed to?"

Heck yes, she is absolutely allowed to! Go queen.

The hate just kept piling on.

"Yesterday, I posted an image of me in this same bathtub, stretching my leg, and the same kind of comments ensued."

Clearly, the trolls were waiting for her to post more photos.

Somehow, people decided the men in her life mattered more than her feelings.

"Again, nothing 'indecent' was exposed, yet I was told to 'save it' for my fiancé."

Whitney is engaged to Chase Severino, who proposed to her in Paris in October 2019. Their engagement will be shown on My Big Fat Fabulous Life.

He fully does not care.

"Luckily, my fiancé is not under the illusion that he’s the first person to see me naked, and he couldn’t care less about me saving these images for him (he has me in real life, remember?). 😂"

Oop!

"Some of y’all are really out here thinking my father and my fiancé own my body!"

Notice what those two people have in common...the hate is so transparent that it's kinda embarrassing.

She has no shame, and shouldn't have any!

"And as someone who is typically in some state of undress on international television (albeit usually a sports bra), it’s kind of wild to me that if there’s any suggestion of actually being naked, or a hint of sexuality, it’s suddenly deemed attention-seeking or too provocative."

Essentially: leave women alone.

"Whether you’re wearing a turtleneck or nothing at all, whether you feel sexy or you don’t, whether you’re in a relationship or you’re not — women are allowed to own their sexuality as a normal part of being human."

Oh, and leave her alone, too.

"In my case, let me take baths and wear lingerie, and let me still be smart, valuable, and successful.

Let women be both."

I might mess around and stan Whitney for life now.
