Kumail Nanjiani shared an emotional yet inspiring Instagram post that sparked a lot of discussion and praise.
So make sure to @ them in your thirst tweets.
Kumail was announced as part of the cast of Marvel's The Eternals at Comic-Con 2018. His immortal castmates include Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, and Richard Madden.
He's always been a cutie, but he wasn't the first one you thought of when you thought of "superhero physique."
Until now, apparently!
"I never thought I’d be one of those people who would post a thirsty shirtless, but I’ve worked way too hard for way too long so here we are." He wrote.
"You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain."
"I found out a year ago I was going to be in Marvel’s Eternals and decided I wanted to transform how I looked," he went on.
"I would not have been able to do this if I didn’t have a full year with the best trainers and nutritionists paid for by the biggest studio in the world."
"I’m glad I look like this, but I also understand why I never did before. It would have been impossible without these resources and time.
So big thanks to @grantrobertsfit who started working with me at the beginning of the year and made me understand true physical pain for months and months."
"Then, once we started shooting, a massive thanks to @davidhigginslondon and his team (@ellispartridge, @thebeardypt, @tomcheesemanfitness) for training me almost every day and making me strong, limber and injury free."
"I can almost touch my toes now. (And thank you for forcing me to do cheat meals David.) Matthews Street Catering for their delicious and healthy meals.
"And finally, the biggest thanks goes to @emilyvgordon for putting up with me complaining and talking about only working out and dieting for the last year."
"I promise I’ll be interesting again some day. #thirstyshirtless (Photo by @markupson.) (edit: I left off one very important person: @lancecallahan who trained me for 6 years and helped me build the foundation I could use to do this. Thank you!)."
Leave no thirst tweet un-tweeted, nor sweating emoji gone unused. Kumail kicked off the work week the right way, and for that I say: thank you.
He really did that. He did that for us.
RIP to all other 2009 vs 2019 posts, but Kumail is different.
This transformation cleared my skin, filled my bank account, helped my crops flourish, and somehow still didn't make me feel bad about not going to the gym.
"ARE YOU [EXPLETIVE] KIDDING ME? I AM LIVID," he wrote in Kumail's comments.
So like a calm, chill, everyday reaction to a totally normal Instagram post, in other words. He's fine.
We have his wife's blessing to lose our minds. Emily V. Gordon is a writer and producer who co-wrote The Big Sick with Kumail in 2017.
The film chronicled the beginning of their relationship. I want a sequel where they tackle this whole situation.
"Yoooosss!!! I remember you telling me about this when we shot GoT — you slayed this and love your caption- good job love!!"
Tan is going to be so mad Jonathan didn't prepare him for this.
Chris Evans? Never heard of him. In his house, we stan the new frontier of Marvel superheroes.
Just kidding, there's always a place in our hearts for Chris Evans and his cozy sweaters.
I'm ready for the next wave of Marvel to be dominated by these two! Exclusively!
Okay, when the king of bodybuilding congratulates you on your hard work, you KNOW you've made it.
Kumail was suitably impressed, if his response was anything to go by.
"Holy... wow," Kumail wrote, eloquently. "Nothing will ever mean as much as this coming from you. Next time I see you, I'm hounding you for tips."
Dave, like The Rock, was a former wrestler before he jumped into the superhero world as Drax, so his praise is equally as valuable.
Kumail's wife, Emily, took to her own Instagram to share a shot of Kumail that pretty much everyone has agreed is the more attractive shot.
Are you ready for it? REALLY ready?
Sure, it's still a shot of Kumail shirtless, but in this one he's under a cozy-looking blanket, with a cat on his lap, playing video games.
Aside from the muscle, this is exactly what I look like when I get home from work every day.
Honestly, if I was ripped like that, I don't think I'd be wearing shirts anymore either.
Congratulations on all your hard work, Kumail!
