Blake Shelton Called Out 'Ellen' Show Runner In Awkward Interview
Ellen Degeneres has had a tough year filled with awkward, cringe-worthy, and viral moments.
Like the whole George W. Bush fiasco, for instance.
After being spotted contentedly sitting next to George Bush at a Dallas Cowboys vs. Greenbay Packers game in October, Ellen faced a brutal amount of backlash from fans.

The outrage got so out of hand, she actually had to defend herself on The Ellen Show with a monologue.
"This weekend I went to Dallas for the Cowboys game," she explained.

"Portia and I were invited by Charlotte Jones. She is the daughter of Jerry Jones, who owns the Dallas Cowboys."
"I took a video of who was next to me," she said, before playing a clip of George Bush smiling in the seat next to her.

"When we were invited, I was aware that I was going to be surrounded by people with very different views and beliefs."

"During the game, they showed a shot of George and me laughing together, and uh — people were upset."
"They thought 'Why is a gay Hollywood liberal sitting next to a conservative republican president?'"

"Here's the thing," she went on. "I'm friends with George Bush."
"In fact, I'm friends with a lot of people who don't share the same beliefs that I have."

"But just because I don’t agree with someone on everything doesn’t mean that I’m not going to be friends with them."

"When I say be kind to one another, I don’t mean only the people that think the same way that you do," she concluded.
And earlier this month Ellen had a rather uncomfortable interview with "50 Shades of Grey" star, Dakota Johnson.

Things got tense between the two when Ellen tried to claim that Dakota didn't invite her to her birthday party when, in fact, she did.
"Actually, no, that's not the truth, Ellen. You were invited," Dakota said.

"Last time I was on the show you gave me a bunch of [expletive] about not inviting you, but I didn't even know you wanted to be invited. I didn't even know you liked me."
Awks.
Just this week, Ellen had a similarly thorny interview with Blake Shelton.
It wasn't quite as awkward as her being friends with George Bush or the interview she had with Dakota Johnson — but still, not ideal.
"Let's talk about Gwen [Stefani]," Ellen said.

"Now, I gave you a clock. Remember that clock I gave you? To remind you that time is ticking."
"But you didn't give it to me," Blake corrected Ellen.

"I walked backstage and somebody back there was like, 'Hey, thanks for being on the show. Can I have that?' And they took it."

"Well, that's not right," Ellen responded. "We can't — why do we need it?"

Ellen was trying to play it cool, but Blake took it even further — accusing her of using the same bit on another celebrity guest.

"You took it back because whoever your next guest was, you replaced the picture and did the same crap to them and embarrassed them," Blake said, calling her T.F. out!
"You're right — because we did that to Jennifer Lopez and now she's engaged," Ellen admitted.

Later in the episode, Blake talked about a doll of him that he would gift to Ellen.

"I won't take it back from you like you did the clock," he said.
Blake - 1, Ellen - 0.
Ellen didn't ease up, even after the show finished tapping.
"Are you engaged yet?" Ellen tweeted to Blake.
