Megan Fox Opens Up About Her Children's 'Vegan School'

Megan Fox is sharing her passion for animals with her kids.

The mom of three and wife to Brian Austin Green recently opened up to People about how she sends her kids to a "vegan" school.

Don't expect Megan Fox to conform to "traditional" parenting methods.

The actress has always encouraged her three kids, Journey River, 3, Bodhi Ransom, 5½, and Noah Shannon, 7, to be unapologetically themselves.

Take, for instance, the time Megan supported her son Noah's decision to wear dresses.

“Sometimes, he’ll dress himself and he likes to wear dresses, sometimes,” Fox told People this past September.

“And I send him to a really liberal, hippy school, but even there — here in California — he still has little boys going, ‘Boys don’t wear dresses,’ or ‘Boys don’t wear pink.'”

The boys in Noah's classes weren't the only critics.

People on social media have also had things to say.

Like the time Fox was mommy-shamed in 2017 when she shared this image of Noah wearing a "Frozen"-themed dress.

Both Megan and husband Brian Austin Green were heavily criticized for letting their son dress like a girl.

Instead of letting the haters have the final say, the protective mama clapped back at the naysayers.

She wrote:

"He designs. He draws outfits. He's very talented, but he's still 6. He's really into fashion. Sometimes, he'll dress himself and he likes to wear dresses sometimes..."

"We're going through that now, where I'm trying to teach him to be confident no matter what anyone else says," she said.

"He came home and I was like, 'How was it? Did any of the friends at school have anything to say?' And he was like, 'Well, all the boys laughed when I came in,' but he's like, 'I don't care, I love dresses too much.'"

More recently, Megan opened up to "People" again about letting her kids express themselves.

“It’s about releasing control, right? That’s all it is," she said.

"It’s [about] allowing them to be who they are and relinquishing control, because they were born to be who they are, and it’s my job to support that process, not to get involved and micromanage and mold them into what I think they should be.”

“We’re here to keep them alive, but we’re learning all the lessons from them.”

“We don’t encourage them to be themselves, we just encourage whoever they are,” added Megan's husband Brian.

“I know for me, [the more time passes,] the more I really realize and am okay with the fact that they are people.”

These modern parents are even teaching their kids to be as environmentally-friendly as possible.

One big way they're doing that is by sending them to a vegan school.

"We send them to an organic, sustainable, vegan school where they’re seed-to-table, they plant their own food," Fox explained.

"They grow it, they harvest it and they take it to local restaurants to sell it, so they understand how all of that works.”

The lessons don't stop there.

At home, Megan is also teaching her kids to love animals as much as she does.

“My son accidentally stepped on a roly-poly once and he was devastated, and we had a full funeral for it,” Fox said.

“We did a ceremony, we buried it, we lit sage, we released him back. So they’re very involved.”

The couple also got to talking about their upcoming holiday plans.

“We decorate a lot,” Fox said.

“My mom’s coming into town. We usually play a lot of board games as a family around the holidays, just typical stuff like that.”

Hopefully, Megan's mom can babysit one night since date nights are difficult with three kids!

But when they do, they keep things low-key.

“We go see movies at like 11 in the morning. We go have lunch,” Green said.

It sounds like these are super involved parents who will do anything — including sacrificing date night — for their kids!
