Sure, it was one of the biggest movies Marvel has ever come out with. Sure, it was groundbreaking because of its female protagonist.
But that doesn't mean it doesn't have anything wrong with it. In fact, there are about 10+ things that are wrong with this movie.
Let's check them out!
The way that her name appears on her dog tag is wrong.
In the movie, it's written as "Carol Danvers", but the U.S. Army always puts the last name first (Danvers, Carol).
There's a moment where Vers walks into an internet cafe where he runs into a piece of technology that wouldn't come out until 1997.
Specifically, the piece of Windows 95 known as Netscape Navigator 4.
Another time mess up for these guys, considering the Cajun and Zydeco Classics album didn't come out until 1997.
You can see the songbook on Rambeau's piano (the red one).
There's a scene where Captain Marvel is coming out of the train when she passes a guy reading a newspaper.
However, in the next shot, the guy is still in front of her.
At the moment where Carol uses the payphone from Blockbuster, she puts in 25 cents to use it.
Trouble is, there's a sticker that says the rate will be going up to 25 cents on Nov. 1, 1995. The movie takes place in June 95.
When Nick Fury types in "The Protector Initiative" we see that he has a newer keyboard than he should.
The F11 key has a secondary function, which wasn't added until later years.
At the moment that Carol steals the bike, she rides to the bar and passes by a white Ford pickup truck.
There are a couple of things wrong with this truck.
First, it is a non-commercial license plate, and trucks back then had to have commercial license plates.
Also, it's blue on white, whereas back then they were blue on gold.
It's revealed later that the Skrulls need Carol for her memories, but their first action is to shoot at her with a sniper rifle.
Was their plan to clean the memories off the concrete?
When everyone is gathered around Maria's computer waiting for that stupid CD to load (the one with the audio on it) we see the machine is running Windows ME or 2000, not Windows 95 (beta or otherwise).
During the scene where Carol is fighting a bunch of Skrulls in that hallway, they first lie motionless (after being defeated) in a spooning type of fashion.
In the wide shot, they're not spooning anymore.
The first time she's stunned by the Skrull stun weapon it's enough to knock her out for a pretty long period of time (she's knocked out, brought to the ship and brain probed)...
Did all that probing awaken something in her that is impervious to stun weapons?
So in the scene where she's escaping the ship (about to land on earth), she takes the second escape pod.
Yet the Skrulls all manage to show up together, whereas Carol lands in the Blockbuster.
