Maternity Ward Nurse Knits Tiny Ugly Christmas Sweaters For Newborn Babies

Ugly Christmas sweaters are the holiday tradition everyone loves to hate. They are goofy and sometimes itchy, but year after year, we always wear them.

Well, one hospital's adorable take on this tradition might just change your mind about these festive fashion statements.

These lucky babies couldn't wait to show their festive cheer with their very first ugly Christmas sweaters.

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Magee-Womens Hospital has a yearly tradition of dressing up newborn babies in seasonal outfits.

In 2018, the theme was "Ugly Sweaters, Cute Babies".

Caitlin Pechin, one of the maternity ward nurses, knit these adorable sweaters herself.

Each sweater had a unique design like a snowflake, a Christmas tree, or candy cane stripes.

Is there anything better than babies in ugly Christmas sweaters around the holidays? I don't think so.

This annual tradition makes the birth of a new baby even more special for the parents.

We already know December babies are special, but this adds just a little extra love to the whole celebration.

I seriously can't get enough of these babies in their miniature sweaters.
