Ryan Reynolds Was Nearly Crushed By A Falling Barricade At Comic-Con

Talk about a close call!

During a recent Comic-Con event in Brazil, the Free Guy actor was nearly crushed by a falling barricade.

Thanks to his superhero-like quick-thinking, thankfully he made it out okay!

It's been quite the year so far for Ryan Reynolds!

Back in August, he and his wife Blake Lively hit a major milestone by welcoming their third child together — and in secret, no less!

It took a lot of serious ninja skills to pull that feat off.

A source close to the couple spilled these secrets to Us Weekly.

Like how Blake sneakily avoided being photographed for months.

“They do everything they can to make sure [the kids] have a normal upbringing," the source shared.

Blake also stayed close to home in Westchester, New York, to prepare for the baby's arrival.

“Blake has a really great support system there,” the insider explained. “She has several mom friends and loves having them over for play dates.”

When the baby was finally on the way, Ryan took a break from filming for eight days.

All of their efforts paid off as they got to welcome their new baby girl in peace!

Then, just last week, the actor earned several major props for capitalizing on the failed Peloton ad that had gone viral.

In his own advertisement for his Aviation gin company, Ryan hired the same actress from the original commercial.

The reaction for the ad was insane.

The move has earned Ryan and his team so much praise for being marketing geniuses.

When one fan asked for the ad to be captioned to make it accessible for the deaf community, he even happily obliged!

Such a class act!

This year, Ryan has also been making the rounds at Comic-Con across the globe.

Recently, he attended the one held in São Paulo, Brazil to promote his new film, Free Guy.

While there, though, things got pretty insane...

Video footage captured the terrifying moment when the actor was nearly crushed by a toppling barricade.

Here's the scary moment from another angle:

It shows just how much of a close call it was before his leg was crushed.

Ryan ended up talking to Entertainment Tonight afterwards about the scary experience.

“Well, ordinance collapsed and that was a little, I think it looked worse than it was," he said.

"All I was worried about were the people that were — what you could tell is that they were falling, like, ‘Oh, they’re gonna be fine,’ and it’s like, ‘Oh, but that leg is gonna go,’ so I jumped out."

"But it was, yeah, everyone was fine," he added.

Ryan explained that he *had* to be fine, for his wife's sake.

“My only job that Blake said as I was leaving was, ‘Just come home in one piece.’ So that was my only job.”

We're so happy he's able to fulfill that promise!

And while what happened wasn't great, it was pretty cool to see Ryan put his superhero-like quick reflexes into action!

Did you see how fast he leaped back??
