Channing Tatum Says He Won’t Return To 'Magic Mike' Because Of His Dad Bod

I have some bad news...

Channing Tatum has announced that he will, unfortunately, not be returning to the next Magic Mike production because of his supposed dad bod.

When you think "Magic Mike" you probably think of Channing Tatum.

TBH, he's the only reason I ever watched either of the Magic Mike movies.

But Channing Tatum recently revealed that he won't be partaking in "Magic Mike Live" because he apparently has a dad bod.

This changes everything...

To be fair, Channing is in a relatively new relationship with Jessie J, and you know what that means...

Relationship gut.

It happens to the best of us!

In an interview on the Australian morning show "Sunrise", he explained just how intense it was getting in shape for the first two "Magic Mike" movies.

It wasn't as effortless as he may have made it look!

He described getting in shape as a "full time job".

He explained that his regime was far more than just counting calories and hitting the gym.

"It’s everything. It is a lifestyle," he said.

He admitted that he didn't stay in that good of shape any longer than he needed to.

"What you see in Magic Mike is me holding it together for two weeks," he confessed.

"As soon as they cut in the last scene, I’m like, ‘Where are the cheeseburgers?’"

So while he isn't going to join the cast of "Magic Mike Live", he says he's still doing his best to promote it.

Unlike Channing's two-week intensive workout and diet routine, the cast of the upcoming Magic Mike Live tour is going to have to train "like Olympic athletes" for a whole year.

When asked point blank if he would participate in any of the shows, Channing let us down gently.

He said that he simply doesn't have it in him to get into "that kind of shape again".

He even admitted that he's packing more of a dad bod than a six pack these days.

I have a hard time believing that, but according to Channing, his once chiseled body is a lot softer than it used to be.

"[I’ve got a] dad bod, man! I got a kid now, this is what it is," he said.

"I can’t have a full-time job of being in the gym anymore!"

Not gonna lie, I would still pay to watch Channing Tatum dance around on stage, shirtless — dad bod or not.

But tragically, his shirtless dancing days are behind him...

He did, however, mention that he'll be attending some of the shows as an audience member.

He called the experience "just as fun" even if he isn't exactly apart of it.

He hinted that there may even be some kind of award for the men in the audience that are there with their girlfriends or spouses.

"They will be rewarded at the end of the night," he said.

So, although Channing won't be giving the people what they truly want, it sounds like it'll still be a good time for the audience.
