The Big Bang Theory ended with the dramatic reveal that Leonard and Penny were going to have a baby, and real life has imitated art!
Well, not for Penny, but for Johnny Galecki, who played Leonard!

Johnny and his girlfriend, Alaina Meyer, announced their pregnancy earlier this year.
“We are absolutely over the moon to announce that we will soon be welcoming a little one into this crazy and wonderful world,” the couple said to People .
They echoed the sentiment in an announcement on their own Instagrams.
Johnny wrote, “We are absolutely over the moon to announce that we will soon be welcoming a little one into this crazy and wonderful world.”
His sweet message continued.
“We ask that you please respect our privacy during this celebratory time for us and our families. There truly is love out there for all. We hope ours is the ember of yours, as we feel yours is the ember of ours.”
Alaina’s announcement was equally sweet.
“So happy to announce that we are having a baby! There couldn’t be a better blessing in the world for us and we are over the moon happy. We appreciate as much privacy in this time as we are celebrating with close friends and family, and we are happy to share the news with you,” she wrote on her Instagram.
Johnny admitted that he had a bit of a preference for whether they were having a boy or a girl.
“I get a little bored looking exactly the same way for 9 and a half months every year playing Leonard,” he said on an episode of The Talk .
He revealed that he thought he might be manifesting a boy.
“So we wrapped and I threw some blue in my hair, then I got superstitious that I was manifesting a boy, when I kind of prefer a girl.”
“Don’t play this tape for my child years from now!” Johnny joked, which really was foreshadowing.
“So, I painted my nails pink to try to even out the energy there,” he said, but emphasized that obviously the only thing that really mattered to him was the health of his child.
Their gender reveal party was absolutely adorable.
They revealed a few months ago that they would be having a baby boy, after sharing a few pictures of the two of them covered in blue paint.
“A day I’ll never forget,” Johnny wrote alongside this picture.
Alaina shared her own shots from the party.
Alaina wrote, “I can not wait to raise a baby boy with my love. He will follow in his fathers footsteps of being a generous, loving, chivalrous fellow.”
The couple revealed they planned to name their baby Avery at their baby shower.
“Avery’s comin into this world so loved, and with some hott aunties,” Alaina wrote on her Instagram alongside this picture.
The happy couple has now announced that Avery is here!
“With full and grateful hearts we welcome our son into this world. Thank you for all your love and support,” both Johnny and Alaina wrote on Instagram alongside this picture.
Tons of their friends and family have written notes of support on Instagram, alongside their many fans.
Melissa Rauch, who played Bernadette on Big Bang , left a chain of heart emojis, while Kate MiCucci, who played Raj’s brief love interest Lucy, left a message of “Congratulations!!!”
Kevin Sussman, who played Stuart Bloom, also left a message.
“Mazel Tov, my friend!!” he wrote in congratulations.
Michael Fishman, who played DJ Connor on Roseanne with Johnny, also wrote, “Congratulations!”
Fans were also sending messages of love in the comments.
