Viewers Call Out Jimmy Fallon's 'Disappointing' Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Performance

There's so much to be thankful for, but according to some viewers, Jimmy Fallon's performance at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade might not be one of them...

This year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade wasn't without its hiccups.

Basically, everything that could go wrong, did.

From deflating balloons to cameras panning away from these fails to a lot of bad lip-syncing.

These issues have led many to express their disappointment online.

Like how the parade balloons — a staple of the Thanksgiving tradition — were almost canceled due to the weather.

Since 1927, it's been a long-running tradition to have huge character balloons in the parade.

This includes everything from Pikachu to Snoopy to Broadway-themed balloons.

However, the need for good weather conditions is pretty clearly justified.

Just take a look at what happened to poor Barney during the 1997 Thanksgiving parade. Imagine the horror of trying to explain this to your kid!

While the balloons were given the clearance to fly in the end, there were still lots of difficulties! Exhibit A:

People were understandably upset that the cameras didn't show this happening.

C'mon, NBC! Give the people what they want!!!

Some balloons are...not as cute as others.

We all love to see Pikachu and Snoopy, but maybe this careening at our television screens is a bit of a nightmare.

Additionally, a balloon of the Nutcracker took down a marcher in the parade!

It was just disaster after disaster.

But what people were *really* disappointed by this year was Jimmy Fallon's performance at the parade.

The host of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was joined by his house band The Roots on the floating stage to perform the song "The Bird is the Word."

But when Jimmy started to sing, it was obvious that he was lip-syncing.

And, according to those on Twitter, not doing a very good job of it, either.

Some were more interested in watching The Roots:

One person even went so far as to say that Jimmy's performance ruined their Thanksgiving! Yikes!

"I just had to watch jimmy fallon lip sync in the macy’s thanksgiving day parade and it ruined my whole [expletive] day."

Another pointed out the irony in Fallon being bad at lip-syncing when he does the "Lip-sync Battle" segment on his show.

They wrote:

"Jimmy Fallon’s Lip Sync Rating: 0/10.... dude you [expletive] INVENTED Lip Synch Battle.... what the hell man."

The heat was only taken off of Jimmy when "Glee" alum Lea Michele took the stage.

"Uhhhhhh is Lea Michele lip-syncing her song???? I hear her vocals sing BEFORE she even raised her microphone," tweeted someone else.

"THEN WHY BOTHER SINGING IN THE PARADE," added another.

And, at last year's parade, it was Rita Ora who caught flack for her "bad" lip-syncing ways.

"Rita Ora missing her cue for the lip sync and forcing the camera crew to only use wide shots is the highlight of the parade for me," wrote a user.

The thing is, the parade's conditions make it impossible for performers to sing without a track.

John Legend even confirmed this last year when he defended Ora after she was slammed for her lackluster performance.

"The Voice" judge tweeted:

“Fun fact. We all have to lip sync on this parade because the floats don’t have the capacity to handle the sound requirements for a live performance."

Besides, a lot of people loved Jimmy's performance!

The man danced with a turkey for crying out loud!

Talk about next-level iconic.

And there were a lot of other things to enjoy at the parade.

You know, like Al Roker yelling "Get outta here, ya butter!" at a grown man dressed like a butter stick and following it up with "I can't believe it's not butter."

Or hearing Hoda Kotb try to explain the plot of Dragonball Z without laughing.

To be fair, she did a pretty good job, up until she started cracking herself up by trying to pronounce "Kakarot."

Even the Jonas Brothers got in on the fun.

I don't know about you, but if a giant inflatable Joe Jonas knocked down a marching band member, I wouldn't need to read another headline until 2020.

I would be set on all the news I needed.

At the end of the day, I think that we can all agree that the dancing turkey gave us lots to be thankful for.

We hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving!
