I'm not married, but I'm pretty sure that anyone who is could tell you that marriage is hard. Especially when you're young. Especially when you're super famous.
Scarlett Johansson has recently opened up about the struggles she faced in her marriages.
In 2014, Scarlett married advertiser Romain Dauriac, with whom she shares one daughter, Rose. They divorced in 2017. Before that, in 2008, Scarlett was married to Hollywood superstar Ryan Reynolds from 2008-2011.
“I didn’t really have an understanding of marriage. Maybe I kind of romanticized it, I think, in a way," she said, although she didn't name Ryan directly.
“I feel like I'm in a place in my life, I feel I'm able to make more active choices. I'm more present, I think, than I've been before.”
Scarlett is playing a woman going through a heart-wrenching divorce in the film Marriage Story that's coming out soon, and was actually going through her second divorce during the filming process.
"The idea of building a family, making a family, and having that work, I like that idea. I think that would be wonderful."
"I wanted that also in my marriage to my daughter's father as well. It just wasn't the right person. But I like that idea."
"He killed it," Scarlett said of the proposal between her and Colin. "He did like a whole James Bond situation. He's got a lot behind that news desk."
"I was surprised. Even if you kind of imagine what that moment is going to be like, it's still a beautiful moment," she said.
"I think more than anything when someone tells you they want to share the rest of their life with you and that is just is a lovely, special thing.”
A source told Us Weekly that Scarlett's daughter, Rose, is obsessed with him. "Colin is a great father figure for Rose," the source said.
