Bindi Irwin, Steve Irwin's daughter, has come forward to announce that she has officially cut all ties with an Australian charity that she once fronted for openly being against immigration.
While her reasoning is justified, it's contradictory to the opinions she's expressed in the past.
They explained that SPA openly called for a substantial cut to domestic immigration and a reduction in population.
SPA president and former state politician, Sandra Kanck, revealed that she discovered Bindi's withdrawal from Buzzfeed News on the same day the news was published.
"Effective immediately," the email read.
"Earlier in the year, I asked her team for a new photo and they provided one for us," Sandra said.
She continued, explaining the last encounter she had with Bindi was at some point last year at an art exhibit.
She added that based on the brief interaction they had, she had no reason to believe that Bindi was suddenly no longer on their team.
She even alleged that Bindi agreed with SPA's views on population.
Australia Zoo has not made a comment yet on when exactly Bindi's involvement with SPA formally ended, or if she even notified them that she was cutting ties.
"Oh well, we'll just have to find another youth ambassador," she said.
However, it has since been removed.
When she was 12, she spoke at the launch of Australian businessman, Dick Smith's book, Population Crisis.
Although, to be fair, at the time Bindi was only 15. Her opinion on this matter could have easily changed since then.
What suddenly triggered her resignation, or why she did it without notifying SPA directly is unclear.
But good for her for taking a stand!
