Elizabeth Banks Took An Unexpected Jab At Prince Andrew On 'The Graham Norton Show'

Elizabeth Banks appeared on The Graham Norton Show recently, and her witty remark about Prince Andrew caused everybody in the studio to react.

So, here's what's going on with Prince Andrew.

Spoiler alert: it's really bad!

Prince Andrew is Queen Elizabeth's second child, aka Prince Charles' brother. He's been associated with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein since at 2010 at the very earliest, BBC reports.

Epstein was already a convicted pedophile at that time.

In 2008, he plead guilty to procuring an underage girl for prostitution and of soliciting a prostitute.

The Duke went to Epstein, who was a financier, in 2010 to pay off some of his ex-wife's debts.

A woman came forward with serious allegations against him in 2015.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre was testifying for a case against Epstein and named the Duke among a handful of men who had sex with her while she was a teenager.

She alleged that Epstein paid her £10,000 to have sex with the Duke.

She has since been described as a "sex slave" of Epstein's.

That happened three times.

The Independent

According to Virginia, she and the Duke were intimate in London, New York and a private Caribbean island.

It was on the island that a picture of the two of them was taken. Virginia claimed she slept with the Duke due to her fear that Epstein would have her killed if she refused.

That picture has become a source of controversy.

He said he has no recollection of ever meeting Virginia, despite the picture's existence.

The important part of the image to this story is the Prince's hand on a 17-year-old Virginia's waist.

The Duke thinks the picture is fake.

"I'm terribly sorry but if I, as a member of the Royal Family, and I have a photograph taken and I take very, very few photographs, I am not one to, as it were, hug and public displays of affection are not something that I do," he told Newsnight.

Okay, so back to Elizabeth Banks.

Which is a much less horrifying topic to discuss than pedophilia, sex trafficking, and murder, am I right?

She appeared on The Graham Norton Show to promote Charlie's Angels, which she directed and appears in.

Graham did as Graham does.

BBC

Which is to say, he pulled up some embarrassing pictures and made her explain them. Classic Norton.

The picture he pulled up was of Elizabeth in her teenage years, sporting what I think is a perm.

The hair was a hot topic.

BBC

Ricky Gervais, who was also there, thought it was as confusing as it was hilarious.

"Hold on, that’s a tree behind you!" He said.

"Graham had a different take: "That’s Marge Simpson hair! When she takes it down."

Elizabeth elaborated — kind of.

BBC

"By the way, that’s me — look how proud I am! I made that necklace myself, and I was not really allowed to wear hoop earrings until I was older, and so those are probably some of my first hoop earrings."

The reason was incredible.

BBC

"My father thought that hoop earrings were only worn by pirates, so I was not allowed to wear them."

That's the single best reason to not allow your kid to wear something that I've ever heard.

Alright, here we go.

BBC

“I’ve only just noticed this hand, just sort of saying, ‘You’ll regret this photograph.’”

The fact that hands in photographs are a timely issue is...completely bizarre to me. What a world we live in.

Knocked it right out of the park.

BBC

"That’s Prince Andrew’s hand!" she very quickly snapped back.

Please. For the love of God. Look at Kylie Minogue's face. The whole crowd went up in surprised laughter. Like, it broke everyone there, including Graham and Ricky Gervais.

She was SO proud of herself.

BBC

"Oh my God. Oh Jesus. Photoshop! It's Photoshop!" Graham repeated the often-used line about the Prince Andrew picture.

I can't believe she said something so wild that it made Ricky Gervais clutch his head.

Oh, and by the way...

Daily Mail

Prince Andrew maintained that a full view of the picture would possibly reveal that the image was faked.

The Daily Mail procured the full image two days ago. Hm...what do you think?
