Leonardo DiCaprio's Girlfriend Camila Morrone Opens Up About Being Trolled For Being Young

Leonardo DiCaprio's 22-year-old girlfriend, Camila Morrone, opened up in an interview with Vulture about addressing the trolls that think she's too young for Leo in an Instagram live video.

Leonardo DiCaprio, 45, has been dating the beautiful Camila Marrone, a 22-year-old American-Argentine model, for about a year and a half.

And apparently things have gotten quite serious between them.

There have even been rumors that the pair might be getting engaged in the near future.

But naturally, while they seem to be happy together, fans have taken an issue with their age difference.

Their 23-year age difference has been a point of fixation that trolls have used to harass Camila on social media.

Even though, by now, we should all be accustomed to seeing older men date younger women in Hollywood — it's extremely common.

“They seem pretty serious,” an insider told People. “It’s definitely not a casual relationship. Camila spends a lot of time at his house.”

“Camila is long known as Leo’s girlfriend," the source added. "And Leo introduced her to both of his parents long ago."

The pair kept their relationship on the DL for the first year they were together. But over the summer, Camila broke her silence.

She shared an Instagram live video addressing some of the negative comments fans were leaving for her, like this one.

"Good morning people and happy Friday," she began. "I just read some of the comments on my Instagram and my God, people are so mean.

"And like, full of anger for people they know nothing about."

"I guess I just hope on this Friday that people learn to live with a little less hatred".

"And place their time and interest elsewhere because living without hatred feels pretty good," she concluded.

In a recent interview with Vulture, Camila was asked what exactly prompted her to make that Instagram live video.

"I didn’t even think about it beforehand. I probably should have," she joked.

"I’m kind of impulsive in that way."

"I just woke up one morning and happened to look through my comments, which I never do because I never feel good after I do," she explained.

"I was just thinking about it and I said what I was thinking."

"There’s so much hate on the internet and it’s so unnecessary. I know it won’t change anything."

"Negative comments don’t stop because you address them," she continued.

"I felt like being like, 'You guys suck! This sucks. You guys are really mean.'"

She revealed that she will likely not be addressing it again because it only gives trolls more opportunity to pass judgement.

"I probably won’t address it again," she said.

"Because then you open floodgates for people to judge you."

She explained that she chooses to ignore the haters in an effort to protect her own feelings from getting hurt.

"I’ve learned more and more to just protect myself and avoid things that’ll hurt my feelings."

Wise words, Camila. Wise words.

No sense in giving trolls the satisfaction of participating, amirite?

What do you think of Leonardo DiCaprio's girlfriend being trolled for her age?

Should their 23-year age difference be a dealbreaker?

Or is age just a number?
