YouTube star, Jojo Siwa has finally taken down her signature side ponytail, and obviously, fans are loving it.
For those of you who had no idea who Jojo Siwa was before reading the headline of this article and feel super out of the loop, don't worry — I'm about to fill you in.
Tbh, the only famous "Jojos" I've ever been aware of are the pop singer from the early 2000s and the one from the 12th season of The Bachelorette.
Needless to say, I'm beginning to feel old.

So, 16-year-old Jojo Siwa, in a nutshell, is a child YouTube star. She sings, dances, acts — a well-rounded entertainer.
Her career sparked after appearing on two seasons of Dance Moms, and she's been climbing the fame ladder ever since.
She's best known for her bubblegum pop singles, "Boomerang" and "Kid in a Candy Store."

If you feel alarmingly out of touch for not knowing who she is, you'll be relieved to know that her demographic is largely child-based.

Kim Kardashian's eldest daughter, North West, happens to be a huge Jojo Siwa fan.
She even appeared in one of her YouTube videos.
AKA, Jojo is Kim K approved, which is *obviously* a big deal.

If you haven't watched this video, you need to — North's attitude made me truly LOL.
Anyway, for as long as Jojo Siwa has been in the public eye, she's been rocking a side-ponytail — usually with some kind of brightly colored bow or hair accessory.

It's just her signature look.
Similarly to Ariana Grande's signature high ponytail — it's hard to imagine Jojo without hers.
It's been a vital part of her brand image as far as fans are concerned.
Until now....
In her latest YouTube video, she turns herself into "a VSCO girl."

What's a VSCO girl? Great question.
Here's the best answer I can provide: VSCO is *kinda* like Instagram but marginally more artistic. It's a photography app.

So, like there are such things as Instagram models, there is also a VSCO equivalent.
A VSCO girl can be identified by their reusable Hydro Flask water bottles, Crocs, scrunchies, use of phrases like "and I oop" and Puka shell necklaces.
Bonus points for Brandy Melville clothing, reusable straws (save the turtles!!) and Fjällräven Kånken backpacks.
So, essentially, Jojo attempted to turn herself into a fashion-savvy, VSCO model — which is quite a ways off from her classic style that we're used to.

And apparently, in order to do so, it was important that she changed her hairstyle to a more traditional "VSCO girl" one.
According to Jojo, a messy bun was the way to go to achieve the look she wanted.

I can't say one way or another whether this is or isn't a "VSCO girl" hairstyle. But if Jojo says it is, then it probably is.

I guess it was also important that she look down for the photo, have a scrunchie on her wrist, and hold a reusable water bottle with her finger.
Fans were shook. Some didn't even recognize her at first.

And I can't say I blame them. She definitely looks like a totally different person.
Other fans thought she looked even better as a VSCO girl, and encouraged her to maintain this look indefinitely.

While I'm sure she immediately went back to her classic side ponytail after filming her video, at least fans got to catch a glimpse of what she looks like without it.
