Nicolas Cage's New Film Has His Hardest Role Yet: Himself

Yes, it seems everything has finally come to fruition. I think they talked about this in the book of revelations. It comes before the seas turn to blood but after it rains toads.

Am I being dramatic? Sure! But does it feel like the world is becoming something new with this news? Yup.

Nicolas Cage is a strange actor.

IMDb

Not because he acts strange (and he totally does) but because he's a strange actor who can pull of an amazing performance.

Have you seen Adaptation? Leaving Las Vegas? All these movies are great...

But this new film...well, this new one is going to be a doozy.

IMDb

This new movie he's going to be in is called The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and it's as crazy as the title sounds.

It's about Nicolas Cage (yes, as himself) trying to land a role in a Tarantino movie while maintaining a strained relationship with his teenage daughter.

IMDb

Weird, but it gets weirder.

He is buried in debt throughout the movie, so he goes to this Mexican billionaire's party, only to find the Mexican cartel has captured a Presidential hopeful's daughter.

So, of course, Cage is recruited by the CIA to gain information.

IMDb

But things get even spicier when the billionaire (who also runs the cartel) invites Cage's daughter and ex-wife for a big reunion.

Yeesh! So the question is: will Cage go over the top to capture that essential Cageness? Or will he deliver an Oscar-worthy performance?

I can't wait to find out!
