Robert Pattinson Reveals Why He Took Batman Role: 'It’s A Strange One'

Well... jeez, I know you're Robert Pattinson and everything (possibly one of the best actors in a while) but why wouldn't you take the role of Batman?

It seems like every dream role for an actor is to play something that challenges either their views or their acting abilities.

Plus, I mean, come on, who wouldn't want to play Batman?

We're all aware Robert Pattinson is going to be Batman, right?

For those of you who are just joining us, the guy who was Edward Cullen in Twilight is going to be the next Batman.

Before you freak out, just go at watch The Lighthouse. I'm telling you if he doesn't at least get nominated for an award, then there will be rioting in the streets.

So recently the aforementioned buzz continued when he was in Variety's 'Actors On Actors' with Jennifer Lopez.

Of course, Jenny from the block, like the rest of us, wanted to know what drew the actor to the superhero role.

And he responded: "With Batman, it’s a strange one with me. I was very, very focused on it and I don’t know why. It just kind of kept coming back into my head."

"I knew they were doing another one. It just really appealed to me. I don’t know what it is which happened inside of me. It’s a different feeling where you want to do something where you know there’s an audience, there’s an anticipation from an audience that’s already there."
