Neighbor upset with young families in street, AITA for my response?

Living in a street where everyone knows each other can be great, or it can be like living in a fishbowl. One Reddit user got a taste of the less desirable side of this type of community when an elderly neighbor expressed her displeasure with young families moving in. The conversation quickly turned into insults about young people and their noisy children. Despite being polite at first, the Reddit user finally snapped and told the neighbor that eventually, everyone grows old and dies. While the comment may have been harsh, it did put things into perspective about the changing dynamics of a neighborhood. But was it too harsh?
