Since its release in 2009, The Princess and the Frog remains one of Disney's top-rated animations. Over a decade after the production hit the screens, there have been rumors that Disney will turn the film into a live-action movie, and stars are not holding back with their audition clips. Here are the details.

For the past few weeks, fans of The Princess and the Frog have been candid about who they would love to see take on the lead role of Princess Tiana in the possible live-action remake of the film.

At the same time, some movie stars and songstresses have taken to social media as a trend to partake in the fun, sharing videos of their auditions. 

Ari Lennox Joins The Trend 

On March 20, 2023, Grammy-nominated singer Ari Lennox took a stab at the part by singing the lyrics to the film's song, Almost There, by Anika Noni Rose.

Details Of The Clip 

In a video shared on Ari's Instagram page, the 31-year-old artist, dressed in a white dress and thigh-high boots, introduced herself and morphed into character.

The singer said Princess Tiana's introduction lines, "Mama, I don't have time for dancing," after which she transitioned into her take on the lovely song.

Ari Will Like To Audition In Person 

In the caption accompanying the video, Ari informed the entertainment studio that she would love an opportunity to audition for The Princess and the Frog in person.

Coco Wants To Play Princess Tiana

Two days after Ari shared her clip, Let It Shine, actress Coco Jones joined the train, singing the song's lyrics but with an R&B twist.

The 25-year-old singer posted a clip of herself on Instagram, flaunting her powerful voice, while cooking some eggs on a stove — a nod to Princess Tiana's cooking skills.

Coco's audition was no surprise as the star had previously spoken about her desire to play Princess Tiana. During an appearance on The Wayne Ayers Podcast, Coco said she would love it.

According to the singer, Disney had been a huge part of her life, and she "wouldn't have it any other way." Coco also made it clear that Disney was the reason she became a big name.

Baby Tate Joins The Train

Meanwhile, Coco and Ari aren't the only singers to declare their interest in playing Princess Tiana. Recently, 26-year-old rapper Baby Tate took to TikTok with a much more casual audition video.

The clip began with Baby Tate revealing that she was in the shower. The rapper also shared that she was a bit under the weather and would normally sound better than she did in the video.

Next, Baby Tate, while holding a sponge — mimicking a microphone — began singing an R&B rendition of Almost There. She captioned the video: "The pple said they wanted an audition tape @disney."

Samara Joy Is Not Left Out

Recently, 23-year-old Grammy Award winner Samara Joy showed her Instagram fans why she would be the best person for the Princess Tiana role with her singing skills.

The video showed the young star sporting a brown top, hoop earrings, a light face beat, and her hair styled in a bun. She smiled brightly while giving a jazz rendition of the film's song.
