Kathy Griffin Celebrates Easter With An MRI After Lung Cancer Struggle

The comedian revealed she was having imaging by posting a picture of herself in a hospital bed covered in a blanket.

She captioned the post.

Although, Griffin, 62, didn't explain the purpose of her scan but did receive a lot of support from her friends and fans.

Griffin's most recent trip to the hospital comes after she disclosed her stage 1 lung cancer diagnosis in 2021, despite never having smoked. As she got ready for surgery to remove a portion of her left lung, she said that her physicians "are very optimistic."

Days later, the "My Life on the D-List" star assured her fans that the procedure had "well" gone but acknowledged that it had taken "more" time than she had planned.

Griffin, who received death threats after sharing a controversial photo of herself holding former President Donald Trump's severed head in 2017, reportedly revealed her cancer battle around the same time she revealed she had unsuccessfully tried to commit suicide due to a crippling pill addiction, according to Page Six.

However, a few months earlier, in December, when she was having her "second vocal cord surgery," she posted a video of herself inside a hospital.

It turns out that she underwent vocal chord surgery after lung cancer treatments made it so that she could no longer speak.

This can be painful for anybody, but given that the stand-up comic depends on her voice for her livelihood, we can only presume it was a very worrying time for her.

Griffin released an emotional video right before the treatment on her Instagram page, confessing that she would do "everything" to regain her voice.

The Oak Park, Illinois native stated in September that she had been attempting to regain her voice following lung cancer treatment.

She had a higher voice during a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as a result of the treatments.

Griffin, though, returned to social media to post a video after her Easter MRI. This time, she enters strutting joyfully while James Brown's "I Got You (I Feel Good)" is playing in the background.

She is dressed in a stylish green gown and a half-length jacket and she looks so amazing.

Then she goes ahead to add some hashtags;

We're not the only ones cheering for the actor's recovery; expressions of congratulations were left in her comments by fans as well. As one wrote;

In the course of her career, Kathy Griffin has broken numerous records, including the Guinness World Record for the most television specials shown on any network. She was also the first female comic to debut at the top of the Billboard Top Comedy Albums Chart.

Griffin, meanwhile, has been looking for a career rebirth since her Trump joke went awry in 2017 and wonders who among the canceled gets a second shot.
