The Affair Talk
Vow Of Chastity
Cohen read one question from fans; it asked about Kipa's reaction to Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes's relationship on GMA3. Trying to make light of the situation, Kipa mentions that she and Consuelos have "taken a vow of chastity."
It Was More Compelling
Meanwhile, before the 52-year-old TV host gave her goofy response, Cohen admitted that the Robach and Holmes situation would have made a more "compelling" show for ABC.
No Banging On The Side
In a quick agreeing response to Cohen's "compelling" comment, Kipa adds a joking statement saying there wouldn't be any funny business between her and Consuelos. "Because I know how ABC does not like that, you know, TV partners banging on the side." Adding, "So we promise, no banging on the side."
Happy Holmes Spotted
Fellow guest star on Andy Cohen's show, Marlon Wayans, agreed with the words of Cohen. In a joking manner, he recounts his time with Holmes; Wayans says, "I've got to say, the brother looked really happy, though."
After Robach and Holmes's affair became public knowledge, ABC had already announced they would remove the pair from their position on the network.
In an e-mail statement to all staff members, ABC wrote, "After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes about different options, we all agreed it's best for everyone that they move on from ABC News. We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions."
A month after ABC fired Robach and Holmes from the network, Ryan Seacrest announced he would be stepping down as co-host from Live with Kelly and Ryan after six successful years on the show.
His Goodbye Post
Seacrest shared a heartfelt goodbye message to his fans and co-host on his Instagram page. The American Idol host wrote, "I'm going to miss my work wife and all the laughter we share."
He added, "When I signed on to host Live in 2017 it was meant to be for 3 years, but I loved the job and working with Kelly so much that I extended my time, and last year I made the decision to stay on for one more final season."
Possible Guest Host In The Future
Ending his farewell message, Seacrest hinted at the possibility of returning to the show in the future, but as a guest. "I'm looking forward to coming back to guest host in the future and Kelly, I promise to forever share my food photos, chicken eggs, and olive oil with you."
It Was Always A Difficult Decision
An insider close to Seacrest told media outlets that it was a difficult decision for him to make. "This decision was difficult to make, but he never planned on doing this for 6 seasons… he's ready to explore other opportunities."
When Friends Become Work Mates
Kelly Ripa also gave a goodbye message to Ryan Seacrest and a welcome message to Consuelos in a single Instagram post. She wrote, "OK NOW we're empty nesters. When your friends become work mates become family. ♥️ Congratulations @ryanseacrest on surviving six winters in NYC! I'm proud of you and am forever in your corner. And @instasuelos welcome home, or to the contractual obligation phase of our relationship."
The executive producer of Ripa and Seacrest Live show, Michael Gelman, said a few words about the co-host's departure. He said, "Goodbyes are never easy, but we look forward to welcoming Ryan back regularly with open arms."
Happy To Have Mark
Gelman also gave a welcoming statement to Consuelos as he joins his wife on Live. In his words, "As a fan-favorite guest host for years, Mark is no stranger to the "Live" family. Having him join the show is so special for us, and we're sure that viewers will feel the same."
The Show's Mainstay
The mother of three has been on the show for the longest. Since she joined in 2001, she has worked alongside three different co-hosts on the Live show.
Its Brief History
The Live show launched in 1983 as The Morning Show with Regis Philbin and Cyndy Garvey as the main hosts at the time. By 1988, the show had a rebrand after Garvey left, turning to Live with Regis and Kathie Lee.
Her First Live Partner
When she joined in 2001, she anchored the show with Regis Philbin till his departure in 2011.
From 2012 to 2016, Michael Strahan was her co-host on Live. Sadly, things didn't end well for the pair, as there were rumors of a tense relationship between them. Ripa claimed she was unaware of Strahan's departure until it was announced on-air.
Speaking to media outlets in 2016, Kipa discussed the tense working relationship with Strahan. She said, "I get it. We're excited for Michael. He wanted that job, and it's great for him. I think it is a perfect match, I really do."
Adding, "However, what nobody considered is there's a whole other group of people that it really impacts, because we have to now find another great person."
Mark Consuelos will officially join his wife, Kelly Ripa, on April 17th for their rebranded Live with Kelly and Mark show. Fortunately, the show has always been about husband and wife discussing family issues while sipping coffee on air.
