Gwyneth Paltrow's Lawsuit Victory Prompts Hilarious Online Reactions

On March 30, 2023, the jury reached a verdict and found that Terry was a hundred percent at fault for his collision with Gwyneth on the slopes of Deer Valley, Utah in 2016.

Since the court victory, several social media users have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts about the actress' lifestyle brand, with many posting memes.

One user poked fun at the Goop CEO's recent revelation that she mostly drinks some bone broth for lunch. The user noted that Gwyneth would celebrate with two cups of bone broth that night.

The funny respondent accompanied the write-up with a picture of the Spider-Man: Homecoming actress laughing heartily on the witness stand.

Another user shared a snapshot of the Bentwood Country Mart — where the actress' GOOP store is located in Los Angeles. 

They added a write-up revealing that white smoke had just been released at the Brentwood Country Mart to signify that Gwyneth won her case — referencing the ceremony at the Vatican after choosing the new Pope.

A third user shared two pictures of Lady Gaga, smugly sipping espresso in a ski outfit from the film House of Gucci, and captioned it: "Gwyneth Paltrow on the ski slopes this winter."

In January 2019 — three years after the incident occurred — Terry sued Gwyneth, claiming that the actress left him with long brain damage when they crashed into each other while skiing.

The retired doctor originally sought out $3.1 million in damages but later lowered the amount to $300,000. While Terry claimed that Gwyneth left the scene after the accident, the actress refuted the accusations.

Gwyneth told the court that she and her ski instructor remained on the scene and rendered help to Terry and only left after they felt the former doctor wasn't badly injured.

The trial began at the Park City District court on March 21, 2023. Terry and Gwyneth took the stand alongside a series of witnesses and medical professionals.

On the stand, the Shakespeare In Love star maintained her innocence while detailing her perspective on the interview. Gwyneth claimed she initially thought the collision was a potential s*xual assault due to the intensity of the crash.

Meanwhile, Terry re-enacted the actress' blood-curdling scream from the accident. He noted that it was like someone was out of control and was going to hit a tree.

The court hearing continued for about eight days. However, after two hours and 20 minutes on Thursday, March 30, the jury arrived at a decision, awarding Gwyneth the win and $1 in damages.

Following the verdict, Gwyneth exited the courtroom. On her way out, she paused, leaned over to Terry, and whispered something into his ears. 

The actress waved at photographers outside the courtroom with a big smile but refused to comment. Gwyneth's attorney, Stephen Owens, read a statement to the press shortly after.

Stephen noted that they were pleased with the outcome, expressing gratitude to the judge and jury. He also noted that the star loved standing up for what was right, and that situation wasn't any different.

Later on, Gwyneth's representatives released a statement. In it, the actress noted that she felt accepting Terry's false claims without protesting would compromise her integrity.

Gwyneth was also grateful to the judge and jury for their thoughtfulness in handling the case. Meanwhile, Terry says he stands by his version of events. Despite his stance, the jury has made their verdict, putting the matter at rest.
