Brad Pitt Scores Big Time: $39M Home Sale After 30 Years

After nearly three decades of owning and upgrading it, Brad Pitt finally says goodbye to his Los Feliz, California home.

According to TMZ, the actor, 59, just sold it for $39 million, far from the $1.7 million he paid for it when he got it from horror legend Elvira in 1994.

A source told Entertainment Tonight, "Brad Pitt has sold his Los Feliz home for around the asking price of $40 million. The deal was done off-market."

The home was first advertised for $45 million in January, but it's unknown what caused the price decrease.

Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who married in 2014 and divorced in 2019, spent time at the house with their six children in Los Angeles. While filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith, the ex-couple fell in love.

He also occupied it on his own for several years.

The Fight Club star is rumored to be relocating from Los Angeles to a $40 million mansion in the Northern California coastal town of Carmel.

That comes shortly before the start date of Los Angeles's new mansion tax, rumored to be the cause of the current rise of A-listers abandoning the affluent neighborhood.

Measure ULA will impose a 4% transfer tax on people selling homes worth more than $5 million. Sales of more than $10 million will be subject to a 5.5% tax.

The cash will be used to properly fund housing to address Los Angeles' expanding homeless epidemic. According to Yahoo!, the city has set a goal of $1 billion.

Brad's grand Hollywood Hills mansion is tucked away in a gated neighborhood and has a long, illustrious history that dates back more than 110 years.

It was reputedly constructed by an oil tycoon in 1910, and Jimmy Hendrix wrote the lyrics to his 1967 hit song May This Be Love there.

Brad has spent years working with a team of world-class architects and designers to renovate and develop additional extensions to the property.

According to reports, the star of A Vampire played an active role in the design process to construct his ideal home. He acquired several neighboring lots to increase the land.

The main home on the site is a massive 6,700 square feet, with five bedrooms and five bathrooms. Gray roofs and brick chimneys grace the Californian craftsman-style home. A cobblestone driveway leads to a walkway directly to the front floor. A plethora of trees and other beautiful landscaping ensures maximum privacy.

There are two swimming pools with jacuzzis and a huge Koi pond to the right of the property. A skatepark with a big pipe is located to the left.

A movie theatre, a garage for Brad's motorbike collection, and at least four guest homes are also included. According to sources, each guest home was designed to be a two-bedroom, two-bathroom dwelling.

According to velvetropes.com, Pitt has a $100 million real estate portfolio that includes part of the $160 million French winery he co-owns with ex-wife Angelina. The former couple bought the Chateau Miraval in 2011 and married in the property's chapel in 2014.

Pitt and Jolie are now involved in a court struggle over the actress's intention to sell her portion. Pitt accused her of intending to inflict damage by going into the deal with a stranger, breaching their agreement.
