The California Gurls singer, 38, explained the origin of her peculiar "doll eye" in a TikTok video for Vogue magazine. Last year, the trick went viral after the singer's eye malfunctioned while performing in Las Vegas.

She responded by uploading this hilarious Instagram with the craziest caption after the glitching eye became viral.

She stated, "I do this pose called 'doll eye,' I can close one eye at a time and still, like, maintain all function."

The singer went on to say that she has spent the last 15 years sitting in a chair doing her makeup and hair.

"If they're putting eyeshadow on this eye and someone is putting my hair up into a french twist, I want to give notes in real-time," she said with one eye strangely closed," she added.

While displaying her glitching eye in the video, Perry wore pink eye shadow as her makeup.

The pop singer wore a purple top with a low neckline that exposed her shoulders. Her bangs were positioned in front of her face, and she had an updo with her hair parted in the middle.

The doll eye effect prompted a lot of reactions at the time, and many people responded to her comments in a post she made to soothe the stress. Nevertheless, thanks to her explanation, her admirers can now be confident that their favorite is doing well.

In a recent episode, 25-year-old Sara Beth Liebe auditioned for the singing contest in front of Perry and the other judges, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.

The group expressed surprise at Liebe's age, claiming that she appeared to be 16 years old.

Perry humorously got up from her chair and looked like she was about to fall back on the table when she said that she is the mother of three kids.

“If Katy lays on the table, I think I’m gonna pass out,” Liebe said. Perry joked, "Honey, you've been laying on the table too much."

In response, Sara Beth dropped a TikTok saying, "It was embarrassing to have that on TV, and it was hurtful," and said she wasn't OK with "mom-shaming" since "it’s hard enough to be a mom and it’s hard enough to be a woman.”

Although Katy Perry, who is also a mom, hasn't responded to the Tiktok video, the contestant has gathered over 4 million views.
