Nick Cannon looks back on his time with Christina Milian, who he had previously referred to her as a "gift from God," and regrets that they didn't have children together.
The host of The Masked Singer had a brief romance with the 41-year-old songstress and actress for two years, which began on the set of the 2003 film, Love Don't Cost a Thing.
Although the former couple discussed the idea of starting a family together, circumstances prevented them from doing so.
During an interview with The Shade Room that was posted on YouTube, Cannon made a statement that he knew would likely generate widespread attention, remarking, "If I say this, I know it's gonna go viral."
The 42-year-old performer continued, "But when Christina Milian and I were doing Love Don't Cost a Thing, I remember when I found out she was pregnant [years later] … I was like, 'Dang, man.'"
Continuing, Cannon expressed that even after their split, he stayed supportive of his ex Christina Milian and her family.
"I was so happy for her," the media personality added, "I remember we [were] kids in love early on, and so we talked about that. But to each his own. Life plans it out. The universe gives it how it's supposed to be given."
Christina recounted a past incident when she discovered Nick's infidelity after she hacked into his phone and was shocked by what she saw.
"The next thing you know, I was reading [everything]. For, like, a month, I was reading messages," Christina told E! News.
"It was unreal that it was happening. He was living at my house. … It was just like, 'Wait, under my roof this is happening?' It just kind of blew me away."
The actress was shooting a movie in Romania when she stumbled upon something that would require her to have a face-to-face conversation with Nick at a later time.
"I was like, I cannot bust him when I am away. I need to bust him in person, so in the meantime, I'm gonna get my intel, make sure that this is for real," Milian said, adding, "And it was for real, so it was enough."
The actress shares a 12-year-old daughter named Violet with her former spouse, The Dream, and has two other children, Isaiah aged 3, and 23-month-old Kenna with her boyfriend, Matt Pokora.
After Cannon's breakup, he started seeing several other partners, including Mariah Carey, and is proud to have a family of 12 children.
Alyssa Scott, an ex-partner of Nick Cannon, took to Instagram to share a couple of snaps of their three-month-old daughter, Halo.
The adorable image captured baby daughter Halo donning a Snow White attire while bonding with her mother.
Following Alyssa Scott's pregnancy announcement, Nick Cannon and his former partner were first linked romantically in January 2021.
Sadly, the couple was left devastated when their first child lost the battle to brain cancer and passed away at just five months old.
After the tragic loss, Cannon and Scott revealed their plan to welcome another child into their family last November.
The following month, the online personality announced that she had given birth to Halo, who has since made numerous appearances on their social media profiles.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Cannon expressed that "It's a blessing" to have the financial means to provide for his children's future, admitting that he had no idea when he would stop having kids.
