Disturbing news about Amanda Bynes surfaced this week as she was seen walking naked around downtown LA and even calling 911 for help by herself. The actress is now receiving praise for seeking help after her psychotic episode.

Bynes rose to stardom when she got a role in the hit Nickelodeon series All That in 1996. The success of the show and Bynes's performance herself led to a spinoff, The Amanda Show, three years later in 1999.
Following the massive success of both shows and impressive career growth, she transitioned to the big screen and starred in widely acclaimed films like She's the Man and Easy A.
Her woes began in 2012 when the cops picked her up for driving under the influence of alcohol. This encounter heralded the start of her disturbing journey in Hollywood, marked by controversies.
A year later, the star was charged with reckless endangerment and possession of marijuana. By July, Bynes was detained after reportedly setting a stranger's driveway on fire.
She was involuntarily hospitalized on a 5150 order on July 22 following the incident at Thousand Oaks, California. That same night, Bynes was seen washing her dog, who was drenched in gasoline, in the restroom of a liquor store.
Bynes's parents requested a 30-day conservatorship at the Ventura County Courthouse in California. The judge delayed the hearing until August 9, two weeks after Bynes completed her two weeks psychiatric hold at the Los Angeles area hospital.
In the court filings, Rick and Lynn stated that Amanda had access to $4 million in savings and had spent $1.2 million within a short time on drugs and plastic surgeries.
Her parents alleged that Amanda was suffering from severe paranoia and erratic behavior, stressing that she posed harm to herself and others. They revealed that she would cover smoke alarms with towels, tape her windows and even cover her car dashboard out of fear that she of being watched.
Amanda's parents also stated that she had body image problems and talked obsessively about plastic surgery. They were concerned her surgeries were dangerous and detrimental to her health.
However, in 2014, the teen sensation accused her father of emotional and sexual abuse on Twitter.
Her parents denied the allegations, and Amanda herself backed it up, stating that her dad had never abused her and then tweeted that
"The microchip in my brain made me say those things but he's the one that ordered them to microchip me."
While her initial conservatorship ended, her mom became her legal guardian for the second time as she was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2014.
Bynes posted a series of tweets attesting to the diagnoses.
"I was diagnosed bi – polar and manic depressive so I’m on medication and I’m seeing my psychologist and pyshchiatrist [sic] weekly so I’m fine :D,”
She also addressed her conservatorship under her mom which included control over medical and financial decisions.
“I need to get an apartment and my parents won’t give me access to any of my funds, I’m not living with my parents I’m not legally obligated to. My lawyer said if I comply with the courts and take my meds and see my psychologist and pyshchiatrist weekly then I will get unconserved Thank GOD.”
She however denied all of the contents in the tweets, claiming her friend tweeted on her phone.
She later enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and stayed away from the limelight.
She filed for the termination of her conservatorship last year in full support of her parents after almost a decade, which the judge granted.
She has now been hospitalized after being placed on another psychiatric hold over the weekend, according to TMZ.
She was seen unclad in Los Angeles as she stopped a car to explain that she had experienced a psychotic episode on Sunday morning, and a mental health team arrived following her call for help.
When the news broke out, everyone shared their good wishes and prayers for the 36-year-old.
Various tweets appeared applauding her decision to ask for help before it was too late.
