Paris Hilton Shares Her Parents’ Reaction To 'Paris: The Memoir,' Where She Admitted Her 8th Grade Teacher Groomed Her

During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Hilton revealed that her parents were overcome with emotion upon reading her work.

In her latest memoir, the DJ delves deeper into the details of the abuse she allegedly endured at the Provo Canyon School in Utah.

Hilton admitted that her middle school teacher subjected her to grooming.

“I talk about things I’ve never told anyone. It was definitely really hard for my parents to read,” Hilton said to Cohen.

“It’s been very emotional. But I’m so, just proud to tell my story and to have made such a difference in the troubled teen industry,” the new mother continued.

Hilton launched an exclusive documentary in 2020 on YouTube titled This Is Paris, which shared further details regarding the alleged abuse she experienced during her time at the Utah school.

“It made me not trust anyone, not even my own family,” Hilton said about the alleged abuse.

Hilton admitted to struggling with "fear," "anxiety," and "trust issues," after the incident, and she has incorporated the #BreakingCodeSilence hashtag into some of her social media statements.

A year had passed when she embarked on a journey to Capitol Hill to advocate for a bill of rights aimed at protecting children in congregate care facilities, similar to the one she was previously a part of.

Hilton stated during a press conference reported by The Post:

“Imagine if it was your child who was suffering abuse, neglect or death in the name of treatment, wouldn’t you do everything in your power to protect them.”

Hilton is well-known for being a supporter of survivors of sexual abuse and females of all ages.

March 14th, 2023 marked the joyous release of the year's most highly-anticipated celebrity memoir, Paris: The Memoir.

Paris: The Memoir will cover her struggles with undiagnosed ADHD, privileged youth, and experiences with sexual abuse at wilderness camps and boarding schools.

The memoir will also follow the star's adulthood journey to finding purpose and peace in life.

The press release of the memoir reads:

"Recounting her perilous journey through pre-#METOO sexual politics with grace, dignity, and just the right amount of sass, 'PARIS: The Memoir' tracks the evolution of celebrity culture through the story of the figure at its leading edge, full of defining moments and marquee names."

The most important part of the memoir, according to the press release, is Paris Hilton showing everyone her path to peace as she challenges them to question their role in her life story and in their own ones.

Hilton's memoir launch follows the recent announcement of the arrival of her first child, Pheonix Barron, born via surrogate with her husband, Carter Reum.

During her March 2023 cover story interview with Harper's Bazaar, Hilton admitted to keeping the baby a secret from members of her family, only disclosing his birth upon his arrival.

“My entire life has been so public,” Hilton said, continuing, “I’ve never had anything for myself. We decided that we wanted to have this whole experience to ourselves.”
