Jeffree Star Makes An Unexpected Move In Selena Gomez & Hailey Bieber's Feud

The makeup pro took to TikTok to share a review of Hailey Bieber's skincare line, Rhode Skin. Star addressed his 4.7 million followers putting out his specific content of sharing blunt reviews about lifestyle brands. Over time, Star has been known to make review clips, which has helped him gain momentum on social media platforms.

Alyssa GriffinSHis review of Hailey's brand was regarding the ongoing media fracas between the model and Gomez. Star who recently returned from Paris where he attended the Paris Fashion Week, showed off the minimalist package of Rhode Skin.

He started by stating that the packing was "so boring." He referred to Bieber's inlay card which had her photo, stating, "And then I open it up and - girl - she literally looks like she wants to die. Like focus. Oh my god, that face is like, "Why did I do this? Why did I create a skincare brand."

The media influencer went on to take a dig at Hailey's Hollywood background by bringing on the nepo baby discourse. He sarcastically shared, "So when you're privileged and you use daddy's money and you've never worked a day in your life, I guess this is what we're doing."

The lifestyle pro did not seem to bother checking the whole package before announcing that he would bin it. He proceeded to clearly state that his support falls to Gomez. Star relayed, "In this house, we are team Selena and we are team not bullying anyone. So we're going to skip today's review - oh wait, she doesn't even deserve a pink trash can - and just like Shawn Mendes said, "Bye." 

For several weeks now, there has been an ongoing back and forth between Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber's fans such that the celebrities themselves have had to intervene at some point. Bieber first came under fire after one of her TikTok clips resurfaced. In the video, she appeared to be mocking a Gomez swimsuit moment.

Hailey made a video with her pals, Kendall Jenner and Justine Skye where they lip-synched the words, "I'm not saying she deserves it, but God's timing is always right." Although the clip was deleted, fans had it saved, and immediately connected it to Gomez.

With the rising issue of her deleted video, Hailey took to social media to debunk the rumors. She explained that she and her friends only did a random TikTok for fun, and it was not directed at anyone. Gomez in a bid to placate her fan also asked everyone to be nice.

The drama seemed to simmer until Gomez took to her media page sharing a photo of herself, and letting fans know she accidentally over-laminated her brows. A few hours after that, Kylie Jenne posted a photo of herself rocking her brows, with the words, "This was an accident???" Kylie also posted a photo of herself and Hailey showing off her brows on her Instagram stories.

Within hours, Gomez's fans known as the Selenators came down heavily on Kylie, and in a few days, she lost millions of followers. This also dethroned her from being the most followed person on Instagram. Hailey also lost followers. In retrospect, Selena became the most-followed woman on the same app.

Another of Hailey's clips resurfaced showing her reacting to Taylor Swift's praise. Gomez whose closest pal is Swift, commented by stating that her friend was one of the best in the game. Days after that she announced she was taking a break from social media.

It became a Hailey versus Selenators drama by February 28, when fans became aware of her Instagram story where she danced to Rema's mainstream song, Calm Down. Critics saw this as a shade at Gomez's remix of the same song.

Amid the back and forth and public addresses, more celebrities have shared their opinion. Earlier in March, TV broadcaster, Alyssa Farah Griffin addressed the viral online drama among the celebs. Griffin who never shies away from sharing her opinion opened up on what she stood by, on The View. She relayed that the internet wasn't always what you think it is, but she would stand by Gomez.

The TV anchor continued by noting that through all that have played out, she believed the other party managed up against Gomez. Griffin stated that they [Hailey and Kylie] posted something mocking her and "it was mean-spirited."

Griffin pointed out how Gomez was known for promoting body positivity on her social media pages as the most followed woman on Instagram. She also commended how the star was posting images of herself makeup-free.

She compared Gomez's content to Kylie's noting that the latter leverages sharing thirst traps. She added, "Come to my page and maybe someday you can look this good if you have enough money to buy it." She also shaded Kylie by referring to her as the second most-followed woman.

During the show, fellow host Sonny Hostin also shared her tidbits. Hostin agreed with the mean girls' narrative as she recounted the history and love triangle of Hailey, Selena, and Justin Bieber.

Still speaking on the current development, Hostin was impressed by how Gomez handed it. She noted that the star did not meet Hailey and Kylie's energy. The TV host described it as something wonderful. She however added that she was sure it was "painful to see it and women need to stop being mean to each other."

So far there has been support coming from Hailey's camp. Last week celebrity stylist Von Ford sparked outrage among fans when he made a strong declaration about Gomez. Ford has been known to work with Hailey in the past. In a post that was removed by Instagram, Ford wrote on his stories that he hated Gomez. After the post was flagged down, he posted a screenshot noting, "I said what I said."

Fans came for him clamping down on the utterance. Ford is known to have also worked with stars like Chloe Bailey, Bella Hadid, Charlie XCX, and Justine Skye. Many regarded Ford's conduct as unprofessional as they believed he had burned bridges.
