Meghan McCain Weighs In On Upcoming T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach Talk Show

T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach, former hosts of the ABC talk show GMA3: What You Need to Know, are shopping an “up close and personal” talk show to competing networks.

Meghan McCain, former co-host of ABC's The View, has voiced her support for T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach's reported pitch for a new talk show.

According to The Daily Mail, Holmes and Robach are allegedly “aggressively pitching” a new talk show to provide audiences insight into the couple's lives.

The Daily Mail suggests that the couple is targeting CBS, NBC, and CNN with their pitch for a show following their departure from ABC after their extramarital affair was exposed.

In December of last year, The Daily Mail published images of Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes getting cozy on multiple occasions, exposing their extramarital affair.

After The Daily Mail published images of the two engaging in an extramarital affair, led ABC to remove hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes from the airwaves.

In an op-ed published in The Daily Mail, former The View co-host Meghan McCain expressed her support for embattled former hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes.

McCain argued that their scandal was no different than the salacious content that dominated Daytime TV and suggested that the industry was ready for their return.

“But honestly, why not put these adulterers back on the air? If you haven’t noticed daytime TV is getting super saucy,” McCain wrote.

Meghan McCain mentioned other talk shows that have successfully given audiences a peek into the personal lives of their hosts. She cited Hoda Kotb and Kathy Lee Gifford's popular “wine o'clock” broadcasts and the relationship-focused show of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.

McCain also mentioned Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, who recently got their show after gaining a following through social media posts about their relationship.

In her op-ed for The Daily Mail, Meghan noted the popularity of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski's show, Morning Joe, as an example of how TV news has evolved to include more personal and entertaining content.

Ryan Seacrest, who has co-hosted Live with Kelly and Ryan for six years, is leaving the show. According to Variety, Seacrest's replacement will be none other than Mark Consuelos, the husband of Kelly Ripa.

Meghan McCain noted that it was only a matter of time before the reality TV behemoth took over the TV news. She added, “Come on, they're not that different after all.”

The TV personality also commented on the public's fascination with trainwrecks, implying that Robach and Holmes' affair scandal could work in their favor if they pitched it as part of a reality TV show.

“We can't look away from a trainwreck,” she added.

ABC News President Kim Godwin has spoken about the scandalous affair between Amy and T.J. In a statement released by the network, Godwin confessed that the two did not violate the company's policy.
