No Kardashians will be invited, according to sources who spoke to Page Six about Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour's strict selection process for the annual fashion fête guest list.
Bethenny Frankel, however, believes that Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue, is attempting to "class" up the Met Gala red carpet in 2023 by omitting the Kardashians from the guest list.
The former "Real Housewives of New York City" star mused on TikTok on Friday in response to Page Six's exclusive revelation that Wintour may be turning away from reality TV's first family and returning to "genuine fashion people" in favor of the Kardashians.
“Maybe [Wintour] got all the juice out of that lemon, and now she wants to class it up,” Frankel, 52, said.
At the "peak of their fame," Frankel described the Kardashians as "unavoidable," and she posited that Wintour, whom she jokingly referred to as the "HBIC" (Head Bitch in Charge), invited the famous family to prior Met Galas more as a business decision to "sell magazines" than to present them as representatives of the fashion industry.
Frankel claims that many are calling for a "Kardashian intervention" since the tides are turning. She thinks Wintour welcomed the family when there was a huge demand for their stuff, but that now people had "gotten sick of [the Kardashians]."

Frankel added, donning chic black-rimmed spectacles and a plush gray turtleneck sweater.
In an effort to "appeal to her base" of "real fashion people," Frankel theorized that Wintour is moving away from inviting well-known figures.
Frankel continued, bringing up Kylie Jenner's Off-White ensemble from the 2022 gala, saying that perhaps she needs to appeal to her base, which is the fashion industry.
The CEO of Skinnygirl also speculated that Kim would have angered fashion insiders by wearing Marilyn Monroe's classic "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" gown to the 2022 Met Gala when it ought to have remained in a museum.
The relationship between the fashion business and the ultra-rich was another topic covered in Frankel's nearly 6-minute-long TikTok. She implied that for some time, money has allowed celebrities to buy a piece of the style spotlight.
Frankel remarked,
“I don’t see Anna Wintour wearing [head-to-toe logos] that seem like [they’re] for the masses,” Frankel said. “That’s for people that just want to participate and, like, show off and flex and pretend they’re fashionable.”
Adding insult to injury, Frankel claimed that Kim, the creator of Skkn by Kim, had "certainly spent money to play the fashion game," referring to Monroe's outfit and her recent $200,000 purchase of Princess Diana's cross necklace.
