Honey Boo Boo's Alana Thompson In Vehicle As Boyfriend Arrested For DUI And Fleeing

Carswell was arrested on Tuesday in Monroe County, according to police who also confirmed that  Alana – AKA Honey Boo Boo was in the car with him. The tags on Carswell's Dodge Charger were run by the police, which revealed the owner of the vehicle had outstanding warrants.

According to Monroe County Lt. John Thompson, an officer had attempted to do a traffic stop on Alana's 21-year-old boyfriend, but this turned into a chase that went on for about 3 miles. When the race finally ended in a pit maneuver, spinning the car out, officers claimed they found marijuana in the car.

Per TMZ, Carswell was arrested for DUI. He was also taken in for fleeing from the cops. His offense also included outstanding warrants out of Wilkinson County.

 Another person, Julian Malik Divon Williams, who was in the car was also arrested for outstanding warrants. Reports showed that Alana was not arrested, and was later picked up by her sister, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon. 

It is no secret that Alana who is now 17 received several backlashes on social media after she started dating Carswell due to their age gap. The reality TV star addressed the issue by granting an interview with ET's Rachel Smith,

Alana's older sister Lauryn was also present during the chat. The interview was held at the sisters' home in Georgia and as they talked about reality TV, dating, and family, Alana opened up about her relationship with Carswell.

According to the Mama June: Road to Redemption star, the age difference between her and Carswell is not the only thing fans disagree with. The teenager stated that people were also outraged by her boyfriend's ethnicity.

Alana bemoaned the hyper-attention centered on her relationship by the public. She noted, "In our relationship, the two most things that everybody is always talking about is our age gap and definitely because he's Black and I’m white and we're an interracial couple."

Despite the public's view, Alana said she and Carswell are happy and they have the most important approval. The TV star said her sister and Dralin's mother are happy for them and she does not care about what fans think of their affair.

Alana's older sister Lauryn "Pumpkin" confirmed she is happy about her sister's relationship during the interview with Smith. The 23-year-old who welcomed a set of twins last year said she believes Alana is emotionally mature enough to date Carswell and also emphasized that he has not been a distraction. 

Lauryn said her sister is not getting married or having kids and has been doing well in school. She went on to explain that growing up in the spotlight has made Alana more mature, and she believes Carswell and Alana are "on the same wavelength."

June Shannon bounced back at fans who criticized Alana and Carswell's affair claiming her daughter received a lot of hateful comments online because the relationship is interracial.  Speaking about the affair in an interview, June also silenced the stir on Alana and Carswell's 4-year age difference.

Mama June explained that her daughter was no longer the 6/7-year-old child fans fell in love with, and her sister Lauryn was within Alana's Age range when she began dating her husband.  The TV personality concluded her statement, noting that Alana would soon be graduating high school.

Alana was introduced to fans at a young age after she starred on the TLC show Toddlers & Tiaras. She immediately became popular for her lovely character, outspoken personality, as well as her family's interesting lifestyle.

Her fame on the show led to the premiere of her show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, The TLC show which featured the life of Alana and her family from 2012 until 2017. Since the show, the sweet little TLC star has grown into a teenager who tries to maintain a healthier lifestyle. 

One of the things Alana's family was known for was their poor nutrition decisions but Alana seems to be changing the habit by making better choices with her food and has increased her exercise. 

It was reported in 2022 that the teenager intended to undergo surgery that will help her lose weight. Her manager, Gina Rodriguez, revealed in an interview that the surgery, which will be scheduled for just after Alana's 17th birthday.

Despite all the ups and downs Alana has dealt with over the years, she confirmed she is a focused person when it comes to her education. Speaking about the future in a 2021 interview with Teen Vogue, the TV star said that she wished to be "the best I can be."

The former child star made it known that she wanted "to make my money, and I also want to make straight A's, so I just try my hardest." Alana now lives with her sister Lauryn after her mother lost custody due to some bad decisions including her struggles with substance and getting arrested.
