Looking Forward To The Memories
In an earlier post from Kathy announcing the birth of Phoenix to her fans, she posted a picture of Paris and Phoenix in an adorable mother-son position. She wrote in her caption, "My husband Rick and I are so overwhelmed & filled with joy to share our newest grandson, Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum. We are so thrilled for Paris & Carter & look forward to all the happy memories we will make as a family."
The Perfect Picture
Looking at the adorable picture of mothers and child bonding, the 63-year-old reality star hugged her daughter from behind while gently placing a kiss on her grandson's forehead. Meanwhile, the new mom, Paris Hilton, closed her eyes calmly as she placed her baby boy close to her chest, supporting him with both hands.
The New Mom
Welcoming her newborn in January, Paris Hilton shared a lovely picture of her gently holding her little one's hands via Instagram. Letting the world and her fans know it's her new baby, she wrote, "You are already loved beyond words 💙"
Always Her Dream
Remembering her discussion with People when she said, "It's always been my dream to be a mother and I'm so happy that Carter and I found each other." She added, "We are so excited to start our family together and our hearts are exploding with love for our baby boy." Dream answered!
After welcoming her bundle of joy, the 42-year-old socialite shocked her fans when she revealed that Phoenix came via a surrogate. In her words to Emily Maddick with Glamour, she said, "When I was in The Simple Life, I had to be in a room when a woman was giving birth and that traumatized me as well."
Adding, "But I want a family so bad; it's just the physical part of doing it. I'm just so scared… childbirth and death are the two things that scare me more than anything in the world."
A Whole Week!
Speaking on her iHeartRadio Podcast, This is Paris, the media personality revealed that she and Carter decided to keep the news of a baby coming a secret, even from her family. She said, "Not even my mom, my sisters, my best friend knew until he was over a week old."
Adding to her statement, Parish also revealed, "so when we [Paris and Carter] were talking about it [the baby], I really felt that I wanted this journey to be for us only."
Scared of A Leak
Explaining her reasons for why she and Carter chose this path of secrecy, Parish mentioned she didn't want media attention. In her words, "Because we were so excited and wanted to tell our families, but we were just nervous because if you tell a person, then they tell someone, and all the sudden, it's in TMZ or Page Six, and I've had enough of my life like that."
Just Her and Carter
To avoid media and paparazzi frenzy, the socialite/entertainer and her husband, Carter Reum, made "a pact together" not to tell anyone. Further revealing that they enjoyed having their moment together rather than with the public.
"It was really nice to have that with Carter, be our own journey together. I just feel like my life has been so public, and I've never really had anything be just mine."
Kathy's Reaction To The Birth of Phoenix
After she and Carter had enjoyed their alone time with baby Phoenix, it was time for the big reveal. Paris explains the moment of her mom's reaction: "when I introduced my mom to our baby boy, it was amazing to see the look on her face." Adding, "she was so surprised — just the look on her face, it was priceless."
More To Come
Still, in her interview with Emily Maddick, the 42-year-old businesswoman stated that she had undergone IVF seven times in hopes of having more kids with Carter.
The New York native even revealed that she has 20 more kids to come, and their [her and Carter] collection are "all boys." They decided to freeze the embryos to make their soon-to-be large family work.
The Kardashian Advice
Remember Kim Kardashian as Paris' assistant? The two friends' relationship continues to buzz as Paris reveals the source of her "freeze" idea. While discussing with Emily Maddick, Paris Hilton confessed that before meeting Carter, she had previously frozen her eggs on advice from Kim Kardashian.
In her words, "I went and did the one round of IVF because Kim had told me about it. So I had eggs frozen.
Then, Everything Changed
As anyone would guess, her marriage to Carter happened, and they decided it was time to start a family. She further mentioned, "Carter and I had already been talking about the future, and then the world was shut down, so I was like, 'What do you think about us making embryos?'"
Fear of Doctors
Although bold in her appearance, the big media star has a phobia of visiting the doctor's office. Recounting her decision for surrogacy, she revealed it was prompted due to her fear of doctors at a younger age while at boarding school.
She explained to Emily, saying, "I'm just so scared, I think, again, leading back to Provo of even being in a doctor's office, just all of that. The shots, the IVs that they put in [she claims they used to regularly take samples of her blood]."
She also spoke about how she got her baby's name idea and had always planned names for her babies. She said, "I've been planning my children's names for years and years," adding, "Phoenix also stands for hope, rebirth, and transformation."
In talks about how she chose the name and coming ones, Paris revealed she likes the idea of city names — is she a fan of Money Heist? Explaining why she chose Phoenix, the new mom said she wanted her son to bear a city name like hers and her daughter would be called London.
Mentor Barron Hilton
Paris loves her grandfather, and it shows! In honor of her late grandfather, the media personality chose his name as Phoenix's middle name. Speaking on it, she said, "He was always my mentor, and I looked up to my grandfather so much, and we were so close, and I miss him every day, so I really wanted to honor him by having his name in my first son's name."
