SAG Awards: Brendan Fraser Stuns In All-Black Ensemble With Partner

Fraser took a lead role in 2022’s drama movie called The Whale. The film has received positive reviews, and critics noted it is a career-defining performance by the actor.  

Brendan’s acting in the movie has been widely praised. The former action movie star managed to deliver a raw and emotional performance.  

For anyone who has watched the movie, it comes as no surprise that Fraser has been nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. 

Fraser is set to compete for the award against several of his peers. The list includes Adam Sandler (Hustle), Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin), and Austin Butler (Elvis), among others.  

The movie star wore an all-black ensemble. Fraser supported a classic look of an all-black suit with a bow tie and black leather shoes. He even wore dark-rim glasses just to complement his look. 

On the other hand, Brendan’s partner was also put on a stunning all-black strapless dress. The dress was paired with gorgeous black heels to complete the whole look. 

The Whale star has been taking full advantage of his comeback by playing emotional roles that display his undeniable acting skills. Brendan received several standing ovations for his work at different film festivals.  

The Whale was played at the Venice Film Festival and managed to get a standing ovation from the audience. The moment was extremely emotional for the actor, as Brendan teared up. 

The 53-year-old actor teared up as he went on the stage and opened up about his battle with depression following claims of experiencing a sexual assault. 

Brendan Fraser also had to face several physical health complications after his long-felt absence from modern-day cinema.   

The cast of The Whale is all well-known individuals, famous for their craft. The actor can be seen posing with the film director, Aronofsky, and costar Hong Chau. 

Brendan was also victorious in the previous SAG Awards and scored Outstanding Performance By A Cast with the rest of his costars, including Thandiwe Newton, Sandra Bullock, and more.   

This year’s award line-up for movies is mostly dominated by movies such as The Banshees Of Inisherin and Everything Everywhere All At Once.  

The Banshees Of Inisherin is a movie about the broken friendship of two Irish men during the civil war. The movie managed to surpass expectations and scored a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in Motion Picture. 

Another incredible movie featuring another outstanding comeback story was Michelle Yeoh’s Everything Everywhere All At Once. The movie managed to gross over $100 million against a small budget of $14 million. It featured Ke Huy Quan, who is best known for his role as a child actor in Indiana Jones and The Temple Of Doom

Coming to TV shows, Ozark and Better Call Saul got several nominees for their outstanding seasons.  

The Whale is an emotionally charged psychological drama that shows the life of a reclusive and unhealthy English teacher’s attempts to reconnect with his daughter. It currently holds a 7.9-star rating on IMDb. 

The movie features several prominent names in the industry including Stranger Things star Sadie Sink. Other prominent names include Ty Simpkins and Hong Chau. 

While the world enjoys Fraser’s career renaissance, the actor made time to praise the performance of his on-screen daughter, Sadie Sink. Brendan calls it a privilege to have had “A front-row seat to watch her win the game.”
