Hailey Bieber Curbs Social Media Engagement Amidst Selena Gomez Drama

It started last month when Selena was body-shamed for a bikini pic. Hailey then posted a video of herself on TikTok that seemed to shade the Only Murders in the Building star.

In the clip, Hailey (while standing beside Kendall Jenner) lip-synched to audio saying, “I’m not saying she deserved it, but God’s timing is always right.” She has since deleted the post.

Now, another it girl – Kylie Jenner – has gotten involved.

Selena recently posted about accidentally laminating her brows too much. Just three hours after the singer shared that video, Kylie uploaded a selfie that seemed to reference her own eyebrows.

Her pic had a text overlay placed near her brow saying, “this was an accident?????” And fans perceived that as making fun of Selena.

But that wasn’t the end of the eyebrow saga. Kylie shared another pic a short while later – this time a screenshot from a FaceTime call between her and Hailey, with their eyebrows zoomed in!

Fans took to social media to slam the duo, which prompted a statement from Kylie.

Commenting on a video shared by a TikTok creator, Kylie wrote, “this is reaching. no shade towards Selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts!”

The Kylie Cosmetics mogul added, “u guys are making something out of nothing. this is silly.”

Selena replied to her comment, saying, “Agreed @kyliejenner. It’s all unnecessary. I’m a fan of Kylie!”

Just when you thought that was that, a video of Hailey from 2017 resurfaced online, in which she appeared to make a gagging gesture when Taylor Swift’s name was mentioned.

Now, we all know Selena and Taylor are besties.

The Lose You to Love Me singer just had to defend her BFF, of course. She wrote in the comments section, “So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game.”

With all the social media chaos, it’s not surprising Hailey has sanitized her feed by only allowing comments from people she follows back.

Selena has decided to take a break from the toxicity of social media, too. She made the announcement via a TikTok Live that subtly addressed the body-shaming incident.

“I’m very happy, I’m so blessed, I have the best friends, the best fans in the whole world and I just couldn’t be happier,” she said.

The Rare Beauty mogul added, “I’m good. I love the way I am. I don’t care, I’m big, I’m not, I don’t care. I love who I am.”

“And yeah, I’m gonna be taking a second from social media because this is a little silly,” she continued. “And I’m 30, I'm too old for this.”

To end her message, she said, “But I love you guys so much! And I will see you guys sooner than later, I just...I’m just gonna just take a break from everything.”

Rumors of a feud between the two have been going on since 2018, when Justin Bieber proposed to Hailey just four months after splitting with Selena.
