Bindi Irwin Celebrates Father’s Legacy On His Birthday

Recently, Bindi took to her Instagram page to honor her father in an emotional way. The Crikey! It's the Irwins star shared a sentimental message along with a sweet throwback snapshot.

The photo showed the father and daughter in the wild, looking at a lizard in the dark. Steve had a head torch and held a young Bindi closely as she gazed at the reptile.

In the caption, the 24-year-old wished her father a happy birthday, after which she thanked Steve for instilling a love for all species in her.

Bindi also appreciated her legendary dad for inculcating in her the courage to follow her heart and the determination to make a difference in the world for wildlife and wild places.

Bindi noted that Steve's legacy lived on while his dedication to conservation changed the world forever. The mom of one also revealed that she, her mom, and her brother loved and missed Steve.

Bindi's brother, Robert, also took to his social media account to celebrate his father. He shared a snap of Steve holding him as a newborn alongside a caption wishing the legend a happy birthday.

Bindi and her family are no strangers to honoring her dad, who died at 44 in 2006 after getting pierced in the chest by a stingray while filming a documentary on the Great Barrier Reef.

In 2021, Bindi and Robert honored Steve's legacy by celebrating Steve Irwin Day. The siblings took to Instagram to share tributes marking the international event on November 15.

Robert's post featured a throwback photo of himself, Bindi, and Steve. In the caption, he revealed he was thinking a lot about his dad and Steve's impact on the planet.

Robert further relayed that even though Steve wasn't alive, he looked up to him, and it meant to the world that he and his family had a day for the world to celebrate his father every year. 

Bindi also acknowledged the special day with a throwback photo of her and the Australian Zookeeper. She noted in the caption that Steve's legacy would live on forever.

Besides social media posts, Bindi and other Irwin family members have honored Steve in other special ways. In June 2022, Bindi, Robert, and their mom, Terri, launched the Crocodile Hunter Lodge at Steve's Australia Zoo.

The news was shared on Instagram with Terri explaining that it was her husband's dream that one day, people would visit and spend the night at the Australia Zoo.

According to Terri, Steve always wanted guests to have the experience of listening to and being around wildlife after dark. Hence, it was very important for them to make the dream a reality.

Since making the big announcement, Bindi has given her fans and social media followers glimpses of the interior and updates on other things to expect from the Crocodile Hunter Lodge.

A few days ago, the television personality took to Instagram to promote new lodgings. Bindi shared photos of her and her husband, Chandler, posing next to the Crocodile Hunter Lodge's signboard.

Bindi began the caption by confessing that she could recall being a little girl and sitting at their big meeting table while her mom and dad planned for the future with the Australia Zoo team.

The conservationist went ahead to relay that Steve's big dream for the future was to create luxury accommodations like no other for their guests.

Bindi concluded by hoping that with Steve's dream accomplished and continuing to expand, she had made her father proud. Steve's legacy will live forever, thanks to his family's continuous quest to make his dreams come true.
