Will Smith Hints at Fight With Chris Rock

Smith can be seen listening to the user in the small clip. Later on, he jumps into the conversation to give his opinion. “I’m gonna tell you something, f**king crazy,” the user says.  

“By changing your life, I mean it will make your life so much more interesting and fun.” She explains. “Did you know, you can pick any object, look at it and ask it what it thinks of you.” 

The user goes on to explain her comment. For instance, she talks about picking a pen and asking it how it sees you or what it thinks of you. “And you’ll get an answer in your mind from our intuition.” 

The actor looks incredibly interested in the idea and seems to decide to try it out. His object of choice? His first-ever Academy Award that he received at the controversial 2022 Oscars.  

The actor won the award for his incredible work in Richard Williams's biopic, King Richard. The biopic follows the real-life story of Venus and Serena Williams’s coach and father, Richard Williams.  

Once the duet ends, Smith looks at the award in contemplation. But, before he can ask Oscar any questions, the clip ends. 

While the clip may seem innocent enough, it may not be. Will Smith doesn’t mention last year’s incident with Chris but he’s obviously referring to it.  

The biggest news of the Oscars, 22. was not the awards and who won what. But rather, it was a moment that shocked the audience to its core.  

The audience and the world were left in shock when Will Smith got up to the stage and slapped Rock. The moment trended worldwide and became a talking point in every talk show that you can imagine.  

The reason behind this infamous incident may surprise you. While hosting the award ceremony, Rock made a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s baldness. “Jada, I love ya. G.I. Jane 2, can't wait to see it." The comedian had said. 

During the event, nothing really. Chris Rock took the moment in full stride and continued hosting the event.  

After sitting back down in his seat, Will Smith could be seen shouting the following, “Keep my wife's name out of your f**king mouth.” 

The 54-year-old quickly suffered the fallout because of his actions. The actor was first and foremost banned from Academy events for 10 long years.  

That’s not all. The actor also faced some difficulties with his ongoing projects. Several projects that included him were either scrapped or paused. 

Will Smith eventually did release an apology to Chris Rock for his actions during the ceremony. In a video released to social media, the actor looked remorseful about his actions. 

The actor considered his behavior in the ceremony “unacceptable”. He didn’t consider it to be the right way to act.  

After the incident, the academy issued a statement thanking the comedian for being able to maintain his composure during the event. For the Academy, the actions Will Smith took were detrimental to their goal of ensuring the safety of their performers and guests.  

Will Smith mentioned that the way he behaved wasn’t “the optimal way to handle” insults and jokes. “I can say to all of you there is no part of me that thinks that was the right way to behave at that moment," the actor clarified. 

A year after the incident, it appears that its impacts on Will Smith’s career are slowly fading. The actor announced recently that he was going to team up with Martin Lawrence for Bad Boys 4.
