Lavigne and Mod Sun have tried all they can to make the relationship work and have been going on and off over the last few months. The source continued that not only have they called off their engagement, but they've also parted ways as a couple.
While the reasons for the break-up remain unclear, the source told TMZ there was no cheating on both sides, and the breakup was amicable.
This news comes after the Complicated star was spotted grabbing dinner at NOBU on Friday night in the company of rapper Tyga and a group of friends.
Sources told TMZ that Avril and Tyga spent the night hanging out and getting cozy with each other through the night. They were even spotted sharing a hug in the parking lot before leaving in the same vehicle.
The source continued that the two are really good friends, as they have been for some time now and there's nothing romantic between them.
However, Mod's rep is telling an entirely different story. According to them, "they were together and engaged as of 3 days ago when Mod left for tour and the news of their breakup may be news to him."
The pair got engaged in March in Paris last year and announced it on Instagram. Mod, 35, popped the question with a custom-designed, heart-shaped ring set in a royal setting with little hearts from XIV Karats from Beverly Hills.

Modsun captioned the proposal picture with a heartwarming paragraph that swooned us all.
"The day we met I knew you were the one. Together forever til our days are done. I had a dream where I proposed in paris. I pulled out a ring + asked you to wear it. I was on one knee as I looked in your eyes. You're too beautiful for my words to describe. I grabbed your hand + took one last breath…I said "will you marry me?" + she said yes, I love you Avril ❤️."
