Coco Austin Shares Her Experience Of Managing Her And Ice-T's Daughter's Career

Ice-T and Coco Austin's little daughter, Chanel, is gradually getting involved in the Hollywood business, and will soon be well on her way to making a name for herself. Her star mom has shared that she is making sure the little one is on the right path as she has since leveled up her momager duties.

Coco Austin On Being A 'Momager'

Last week, the bikini model and her lookalike daughter Chanel joined their beloved man of the house, Ice-T, as he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. During the vent, Coco spoke about her daughter's budding acting career and how she is stepping up her game as a momager (Mom + Manager).

She Put Aside Her Career

Since she and Ice-T welcomed their daughter seven years ago, fans watched Coco settle into her role as a mom. The star revealed while speaking with ET that she drew back on her career to focus on Chanel. The star mom noted that she likes managing Chanel's career more than her own. Coco relayed, "Actually, I put my stuff aside for so long because I love doing her more than me." 

She Is Handling Things The Old-fashioned Way

Coco Austin, real name, Nicole Natalie Marrow, went on as she noted that while it is certain that she and her spouse have connections within the Hollywood sphere, she wanted her daughter to launch he career the old-fashioned way.

The 43-year-old noted that the connection in Hollywood was an "easy route," but she chose to "go by the book." The reality star stated, "I wanted her to audition. So, I don't know if you know this, or people out there, that you have to audition to [sign with an] agency. So, they have to be accepted."

Little Chanel Auditioned To Get Into An Agency

Coco revealed that her daughter auditioned to get into a prestigious agency called Zuri. She shared some of the projects they have been working on including auditioning for Sesame Street, and "all that good stuff."

Chanel Has A Thing For Horror Flicks

Chanel is way below her preteen years, but she already has a genre of movies that fascinated her. Coco revealed that the little girl who is already loving Instagram enjoys watching slasher movies. She added that her daughter knew it was all fake.

Already Showing Her Talent

The proud mom revealed that Chanel already had a "really crazy scream,' something reminiscent of horror movies. Coco explained that her daughter often did the scream when her dad drove and in turn, Ice-T would praise her for it, stating that it might be useful someday.

The duly-honored entertainer also shared his two cents on Chanel's possible future in Hollywood. He suggested a multiple-career path while noting that showbiz needs to be backed by something else. At this point, the proud dad made it known that Chanel wants to be a doctor, too. He relayed that he would advise her to be a plastic surgeon because that will never go "out of business." In all the star noted that he wanted his daughter to have something else to fall back on.

Ice-T Gets A Star

The Law & Order: SVU icon was on Friday, February 17, honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Among those who joined the 65-year-old rapper to receive the accolade was his long-time pal, Mariska Hargitay, and she also honored him with kid words.

Hargitay Gave A Speech

During the event, the Baywatch star stepped to the podium reminiscing about what the Hollywood Walk of Fame stood for while proceeding to praise her friend and co-Law & Order star. Hargitay relayed that it was "profoundly right' for Ice-T's name to be etched on the historical boulevard. She praised his achievements noting, "Your achievements and your artistry and your whole verbal judo, your whole story, run so deep."

The Chicago PD actress continued by stating that Ice-T combined his phenomenal careers as a rapper, artist, and actor at a time "when people overuse the word." She went on by describing him as a real "O.G." She spoke of the man Ice-T was, outside of his entertainment career, sharing that his life story has helped him be filled with "humanity, humility, and grace."

She Gushed Over Their Friendship

Still celebrating her friend's big win, Hargitay gushed over their friendship noting that the actor was one person who kept it real. Always telling her the truth no matter what. She talked about their moments together, times she laughed with her, and grieved her moments of loss. She ultimately described him as "deeply gracious and profoundly grateful."

Ice-T's induction which took place at 7065 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, was the 2,747th star. Other stars who joined the star entertainer in celebrating his achievement included Public Enemy rapper Chuck D, and fellow rapper, Ice Cube. Law & Order creator Dick Wolf was also present.

Ice-T Earlier Celebrated The Announcement

Earlier in February when the announcement was made, Ice- celebrated the news. On social media, he wrote about how getting the much-coveted star was a trip for him. He also joked to Variety about how he had a few run-ins with the law, and it was almost impossible to think he would be honored years later.

Ice-T's Career

Although he is pretty much known these days for his long-running TV stint, Ice-T's career goes way back to the 1980s with his mainstream rap career. He released his debut album Rhyme Pays in 1987 and release his Top 40 album Power the following year. With his music band Body Count, the 65-year-old gained more fame. He started his acting career in 1984, appearing on Breakin.'

Ice-T's love life in the public space started with his high school sweetheart before he met Coco Austin. He and the latter met in the early 2000s, and in 2001 they got married. Prior to marrying Ice-T, Coco was a beauty queen, swimsuit model, actress, and dancer. She won the 1998 Miss Ujena fitness competition before going to work in the Playboy Mansion.

The star rapper and Sports illustrated model welcomed their daughter in 2015, making it fourteen years after they tied the knot. In the years following their daughter's birth, the Ice Loves Coco stars have come under fire serval times for their parenting style.

One of the times she came under heavy criticism was when she revealed that Chanel was still breastfeeding at five. According to the TV personality, this was their way of bonding, and to her, she felt her daughter should not be stopped until she does by herself.

Last year in May, Coco and Ice-T's parenting was once again called to question when they shared a photo of the family on a shopping spree. While the couple posed for the mirror selfie, Chanel looked like she was over it all, as she sat in her stroller. While the image was cute, fans had mixed feelings about her still using a stroller. Coco addressed the uproar by noting that there were more pressing issues to address than her mothering skills.
