Tragic Loss: 'Days of Our Lives' Actor Cody Longo Dead at 34

Cody Longo, best known for his role as Nicholas “Nikki” Alamain in "Day of Lives," has passed away at 34, according to TMZ.

A family member revealed to TMZ that Cody's body was discovered on Wednesday at a house in Austin, Texas.

Stephanie Felt Uneasy

According to the outlet, Longo's wife, Stephanie, worked at a nearby dance studio when she noticed she couldn't reach Longo. She reportedly felt uneasy and asked the police to check on him.

The Police Discovered Him

When Longo didn't answer the door when the police arrived at the house, they kicked it down and discovered Longo dead in bed.

He Battled Alcoholism

According to the family member, Cody battled alcoholism for years before entering rehab over the summer.

What His Family Believes Caused His Death

Although an official time of death has not yet been disclosed, the family believes that he most likely died from alcoholism after relapsing.

He Was An Amazing Father

Cody's wife, Stephanie, told TMZ he was working hard to fight for his children. She claims,

"He was an amazing father and the best husband. Our whole world is shattered."

Where He Was Born

Longo, born in Littleton, Colorado, on March 4, 1988, built a name for himself in the entertainment industry through roles in movies like "Ball Don't Lie" and the 2009 "Fame" reboot.

He Starred In Make It Or Break It

The up-and-coming performer landed recurring roles on series like "Make It or Break It" on ABC Family and "Hollywood Heights" on Nick at Nite, where Longo played teen heartthrob Eddie Duran for 78 episodes.

Some Of His Works

Longo guest-starred on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" as Nathan Culver, the boyfriend of one of the show's numerous victims, and he played Jo Danville's son Tyler Josephson for two episodes of "CSI: New York" the same year he made an appearance on "Days of Our Lives."

He Was Accused Of Assault

For domestic violence in 2020, the actor was taken into custody. After being accused of sexually assaulting a young girl, age 9, Longo also entered a guilty plea to a misdemeanor assault charge in 2021.

His Last Project

Longo was working on the upcoming film "Do You Want to Die in Indio" with director David Moreton at the time of his death.

He Was Also A Musician

Cody also made a living as a musician under the alias Cody Anthony, a combination of his first and middle names.

His Reps Statement

In a statement to E! News, Cody's representative said:

"Cody was a dear friend, going back many years before he was a client, My heart breaks for his amazing wife and kids."

He continued;

"He had taken some time away from acting to pursue his music career and spend more time with his family in Nashville, but we had kept in touch regularly and he was excited to get back into acting this year. Cody was such a loyal, loving and talented person and he will be greatly missed."

For now, it is unknown what caused Cody's death.
