Melanie Lynskey is reminding everyone that body shaming is never a good idea.

The 45-year-old Yellowjackets star was the subject of a tweet by America’s Next Top Model cycle 1 winner, Adrianne Curry, that seemed to criticize her figure. Lynskey wasn’t having it and had the best response to her.

In the now-deleted post, Curry, 40, reacted to a photo of the New Zealand native by writing, “her body says life of luxury…not post apocolyptic [sic] warlord. where is linda hamilton when you need her?”

Lynskey's Curvy Physique Was Seemingly Criticized

For context, Linda Hamilton, who starred in the Terminator franchise, had a ripped physique while Lynskey was more on the curvy side.

Soon, the Togetherness actress shared a screenshot of Curry’s tweet along with her response on Twitter.

How She Replied

“Firstly- this is a photo from my cover shoot for InStyle magazine, not a still from HBO’s The Last Of Us,” she wrote. “And I’m playing a person who meticulously planned & executed an overthrow of FEDRA.”

She continued her statement, which has gotten over 132 thousand likes so far, “I am supposed to be SMART, ma’am. I don’t need to be muscly. That’s what henchmen are for.”

Curry Doubled Down

Curry deleted her Twitter account following the backlash her post received. But before she did, the New York Post caught a couple more tweets in which she attempted to double down on her earlier statement.

Her Explanation

In one of the tweets, she explained that she didn’t associate “a perfect hour glass frame” – which she said Lynskey possessed – with warriors. “Actors taking character criticism as personal attacks is mind blowing,” she added.

Digging A Deeper Grave?

In her other response, Curry said Lynskey’s figure was “perfect,” just not “warlord perfect,” adding that she was “talking about a fictional character. I also said she was sorry voiced and short. The fictional character.”

Fans Supported Lynskey

Lynskey’s followers were quick to show their support for her while calling out Curry for her body-shaming comments. Writer Jaime Primak wrote, “So I've taken a second to process her comment. Her top redeeming quality is being naturally thin… congratulations on your body I guess… 😒”

She Wants To Normalize Her Body Type

This isn’t the first time the actress has addressed body-shaming issues. In her InStyle feature, where the photo that Curry referenced came from, she spoke about getting tired of hearing comments about her figure and wanting to normalize her body type.
